Some great redfish action this week! Snook, reds, and a few tarpon have been cooperating over the last few weeks. As our warming trend continues, the bite should get increasingly better. Tarpon right around the corner!

John, with a beautiful overslot snook from this morning. Naples to Marco Island have been free of red tide, and the fish seem to appreciate it!

Productive day for Jim and his friends. The snook, redfish and snapper all cooperated for us. Pilchards are plentiful right now so grabbing some extra to chum with has been easy. The bite should continue through the first fronts in October.

Mike landed this nice triple tail last week on a half day. Mike cast a shrimp toward the fish that was sitting under a crab bouy an it quickly inhaled our offering. Seconds later the hooked pulled out and our hearts sank fearing we had missed our opportunity at the fish. Remarkably the fish swam right back to the bouy we had just hooked it on. Mike's second cast was well received and the fight was on! Fishing with shrimp has still provided the most action but, I will begin to fish pilchards within the next few weeks when the water temps reach the 70's. The fish was landed on a bull bay 8-17 # stealth rod penn battle III 3000 with spider wire 10 # braid

Norm was super excited about this nice redfish we caught this afternoon. Shrimp and a Cajun thunder got the job done.

Traditional Cioppino. Start with Olive oil, Butter, fennel, onion, celery, carrot. Clarify the onions and then add fresh fish. After 3 minutes add v8 and various fish stocks (shrimp and lobster) simmer for 20 minutes then add shellfish and bring to a boil. Don't forget the saffron.

Apparently Australian Shepherds don't like koala bears...
