Like most things in training, the answer is somewhere in the middle.

Being heavier doesn’t automatically mean you’ll throw harder. Being lighter doesn’t automatically mean you’ll move better.

The game is about finding the balance between adding usable size and maintaining the movement qualities that make you an athlete.

That said, if you’re a high school pitcher sitting at 150-170 lbs, you haven’t given yourself the best chance to throw as hard as your frame allows.

Athlete of the Week — Coach Nolan 🫡

Not your typical Athlete of the Week.

This one’s for a guy who showed up every day, did the work, and made everyone around him better.

Coach Nolan came in this offseason as our first hitting coach and helped lay the foundation for what this program is becoming. From the cage to the weight room, he didn’t just talk it—he lived it. Early work, extra reps, attention to detail… and it showed.

More importantly, he made an impact. Every athlete he worked with got better—not just in their swing, but in how they approached their work.

That’s what matters.

Now it’s time for him to get back to his own career.
Best of luck with the High Point Rockers—go do your thing.

Appreciate everything you brought to the gym.
You helped set the standard. 👊

CCAC Champs. Barron Collier Baseball. 👏

Couldn’t be more fired up for this group — they earned every bit of it. But the work isn’t done yet.

5x/week all offseason — 3 lift days, 2 speed & agility.
Then in-season… still getting after it 3–4 days a week.
No shortcuts. Just consistent work.

All while the team averaged a +4.5 lb weight gain — getting bigger, stronger, and more explosive across the board. And this doesn’t even begin to cover what they’ve done in the weight room.

The numbers show it. The results prove it.
Boys work. And it’s paying off.

Also… Jon Minerva is kinda good.
(35.2” vert, 40.6” approach, 1.15 fly… just saying.)
