Build the position before you build the speed.

Rotational Overcoming ISO → MB Shot Put

We drive maximally into an immovable rack while clearing the hips and keeping the shoulders square, creating tension from the lead hip to the trail shoulder. That isometric effort potentiates the rotational shot put that follows, helping athletes produce more force at higher velocities.

From no feel to a real weapon.

Rennick Massey | Class of 2028 | Gulf Coast

Rennick’s changeup his first day in here was a mess — averaging 15 IVB with zero feel for it. The goal was to add depth so it separates off his fastball and dies at the bottom. Now he’s averaging around 4 IVB, getting all the way down to 0, throwing it with real command — and it’s become a high-usage pitch for him this summer.

The timing of the break into the drive leg.

Keegan Wilder | Class of 2028 | Barron Collier

That break — the quick drop into the back leg where we load and leverage it — has to happen at the right time. Instead of dropping straight down into it and then having to get energy moving down the mound, we’re working on feeling the center of mass shift forward first, then dropping into that drive leg. Staying tall a little longer and letting gravity do its job. That’s what loads the back side and stores the energy to send forward instead of dumping it early.

Uncommitted 2027 bullpen — Boston Selig.

Boston Selig | Class of 2027 | Bishop Verot

Uncommitted, 86-88 (T89), four-pitch mix he commands well — fastball, sinker, changeup, slider. 6’5 195 and going to be a monster. Everything you want in a projectable arm.

Sinker design with UCF commit, Drew Maroney.

Drew Maroney | Class of 2027 | Barron Collier | UCF Commit

The sinker has been a great addition to Drew’s arsenal. Leaning into the natural run he already has on the fastball and killing some vert, getting it all the way down to 7 IVB.

Part 2 of our Vertical Performance Circuit.

Immediately after building the brakes with trap bar snap downs, we transition into Loaded Kettlebell Jumps.

This is where athletes begin converting force absorption into explosive force production, bridging the gap between our eccentric emphasis and the high-velocity band-assisted jumps that follow.

Force absorption → Force production → Max velocity → OVR Jump Testing.

Part 1 of our Vertical Jump Performance Circuit.

Before we test on the OVR Jump, our athletes complete a three-part performance circuit designed to maximize power output.

We start with Trap Bar Snap Downs, an eccentric-focused drill that develops braking capacity, force absorption, and the ability to rapidly redirect force into the ground.

Build the brakes. Build the engine. Then see what you can produce.

Next up: Loaded Jumps → Band-Assisted Jumps → OVR Jump Testing.

Keeping the glove working linear.

Boston Selig | Class of 2027 | Bishop Verot

When the glove gets long and casts out wide, it can drag the shoulders open early and wraps us around — that’s energy leaking off the target line instead of going into the ball. Working with Boston to get that glove staying a little more linear. Cheat the front side too far closed and we create rotation the trunk has to unwind out of, so we go rotational before we’ve covered any ground down the mound. Get it tracking down that mound-to-plate line and we get a stronger front-side block and more trunk rotation at foot strike.
