**Some Connections Last a Lifetime** ❤️

This weekend brought me one of those very special moments that makes your heart smile.

Two of my former Harpeth Hall students, **Tricia Ptomey Patterson and Lynne Ann Hampton Biscay**, were in Nashville and took the time to come visit me.

I taught Tricia and Lynne Ann dance from 6th grade through 12th grade, so I had the wonderful privilege of knowing them through some very important years of their lives. I remember the girls they were—their personalities, their energy, their laughter, their determination, and the young women they were becoming.

And now, many years later, here they were sitting with me again.

What struck me most was how wonderful it felt to see the women they have become. They are both truly amazing women, and it was such a joy to catch up, laugh, reminisce, and hear about their lives.

There is something very special about seeing people you knew when they were young and realizing that, even though so much has changed, the essence of who they were is still there.

I loved hearing their stories and seeing the confidence, warmth, humor, and strength they carry with them today. It made me proud—not just because I knew them as students, but because I genuinely like the women they have become.

And the fact that they were both in Nashville, had busy lives and places to be, and still made the effort to come spend time with me made the visit even more meaningful.

Sometimes years can pass, but when you see someone who was once such an important part of your life, the connection is still there.

**Tricia and Lynne Ann, thank you for coming to see me. You made my weekend very special. It meant more to me than you know to have time together again, to remember the past, celebrate the present, and see the amazing women you have become.**

I am so proud of you both and so grateful that our paths crossed all those years ago—and that they continue to cross today.

Some people are simply part of your story forever.

REAL MEN DO YOGA!

Meet Dr. Bill Harb.
Dr. Bill Harb is a partner at the Colorectal Center in Nashville and has been practicing as a colorectal surgeon for more than 20 years. He’s also a collector of University of Tennessee football memorabilia and, what I would call, a true Renaissance man. He has a curious mind and an incredible range of interests—and he brings that same curiosity to his yoga practice.
And yes… Bill does yoga.
Bill has been practicing with me for several months, and I’ve really enjoyed watching him discover what yoga can add to an already active and demanding life.
Our work together isn’t about becoming more flexible or mastering impressive poses. It’s about strength, balance, mobility, breath, and awareness—and learning to pay attention to how the body feels while moving.
Recently, we’ve been working with the idea of 5% less effort: not relaxing or doing less, but letting go of just a little unnecessary effort so the body can move more efficiently.
Bill has embraced that idea beautifully.
Yoga gives him a different kind of challenge. It asks him to slow down, be curious, listen to his body, and sometimes discover that less effort can actually produce better movement.
That’s one of the things I love about yoga. It meets us wherever we are and gives us tools to keep moving well as we move through life.
You don’t have to be flexible.
You don’t have to look like a yoga teacher.
And you certainly don’t have to be a woman.
Real men do yoga.
And Dr. Bill Harb is a pretty wonderful example.

Also known as Adho Mukha Svanasana, this foundational pose tractions the spine, strengthens the shoulders and legs, opens the entire backside of the body, and brings you back to neutral between poses. A simple posture with powerful benefits. ✨
