I made the announcement yesterday on Facebook, but I'm just making it "Official" since my certificate has been made available!
I'm excited to add this additional certification to my personal training academics. For the past 2 1/2 years I've been certified through The International Sport Sciences Association (ISSA) which is accredited through the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). Wanting to be at the top of the fitness industry, Orangetheory Fitness no longer recognizes certifications from any other accreditation agency other than those accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). This was the the catalyst for my getting an additional certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Although I was a quite anxious about getting certified through NASM back in May due to their curriculum being a lot more in-depth, and questioned if I would pass (no being a good online learner), I could not be happier, and thankful that I made the choice to go with NASM, as my knowledge of kinesiology, exercise and sports science, as well as an overall understanding of fitness has greatly increased through this learning. I'm looking forward to passing on my knowledge and better educating others in their fitness journeys, and hopefully continuing to inspire more people to living healthier lifestyles. Thank you again to all of you for the prayers, as well as the congratulatory messages, texts and posts! Cheers to a happy and healthy 2021!

I was shooting for a PR today and at one point my 500 split time was down as low as 1:13, but I just couldn’t hold onto it and missed the PR by just 8 tenths of a second... nevertheless a great workout courtesy of Coach Marcya!

“Your health account, your bank account, they’re the same thing. The more you put in, the more you can take out. Exercise is king and nutrition is queen. Together you have a kingdom.” - Jack LaLanne
