Burnt out. Busy. Distracted.

We promote these things as normal. And even as markers for success. For those who are working hard and hustling. 🏃🏽‍♀️

But, burnout doesn’t have to be your normal. You don’t have to be stuck there.

Burnout is just a warning sign.🚦 It’s your body and mind waving a red flag, saying, “Hey, something’s off here!” Instead of fearing burnout or letting it take control, let’s get curious. 🤔

What if burnout is just an indicator that your work and responsibilities aren’t aligning with your gifts? What if burnout is just an opportunity to make some changes? What if burnout is pointing you towards a better path?

You don’t have to figure it all out now. Just take the first step.

Ever wondered what happens when you blend generations of trailblazing women with a dash of modern-day savvy? Allow me to introduce HBL Advisory Group—an advisory rooted in a rich legacy of ambition, resilience, leadership, and community impact.

A Legacy Carved by Remarkable Women
The story begins with my grandmother, Helen, who transitioned from homemaker to Assistant Vice President in banking through unmatched commitment and determination. My mother, Brenda, was a visionary community leader, always ready to act where she saw a need. And my aunt, Diane, excelled in both corporate and government sectors while tirelessly serving her local community. Their combined steadfastness and grace laid the foundation for what HBL Advisory Group is today—a tribute to women who turned the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Continuing the Tradition
Inspired by these formidable women, I established HBL Advisory Group to empower ambitious leaders. Our mission is to guide ambitious leaders towards maximum impact, both professionally and personally. As advisors with expertise in clinical psychology, human resources, small businesses, and the corporate world, we specialize in helping leaders cut through the noise and navigate the unknown—be it burnout, time management, challenging relationships, or team dynamics.

My Mom was the original “Pinterest mom” before it even had a name. 🎨

My siblings and I always had the most creative valentines, the best birthday treats to share with our classmates, and lockers decorated to perfection for whatever sport was in-season. 🍪

Mom never settled for “good enough”—she radiated hospitality in everything she did. Christmas shopping was a year-round activity as she hunted for the perfect gifts, taking pride in finding something truly special for each person in her life. 🎄 Her generosity showed in how she gave her time, her attention, and her resources to make everyone feel seen and valued. 💚

These principles translate perfectly into the business world. Whether your business offers a product or a service, what people remember most is how you made them feel. The experience matters even more than the offering.

Will Guidara captures this idea perfectly in his book, Unreasonable Hospitality, a reminder that going the extra mile is often what people remember most.

The time has come: It’s time to stop chasing unicorns. 🦄

There’s a persistent rumor floating around the universe, that I know has undoubtedly crept into your sector, and it’s as elusive as a pink polka dotted unicorn frolicking down your neighborhood street—what is this elusive unicorn you ask?

It’s called work-life balance.

You’ve heard of it? The shiny ideal that suggests we can all perfectly manage a thriving career, a bustling social life, and a Zen-like home existence, all while keeping up with our kale smoothies and 5:30 a.m. spin classes.

Yeah, about that… it’s a myth.😮

In case you needed someone to finally say it out loud, here it is: Work-life balance doesn’t exist.

At least not in the way the world wants you to believe it does. It creates unrealistic expectations, generates unnecessary frustration, and frankly, it’s doing more harm than good.

🚫 Striving for work-life balance can actually hurt your career.

🧨 And your personal life.

Trying to split your energy equally between work and personal life all the time can dilute your focus. When you’re constantly pulled in different directions, neither area gets your best.

Excellence doesn’t come from giving 50% to work and 50% to life—it comes from pouring yourself fully into the task at hand, whether it’s a big work project or family time.

💯 Balance shouldn't be the goal.
