I was invited by friends and future co-workers (more on that last part at a later time) to a dove hunt on Saturday September 12th at Sandy Run Outdoors in Farmville NC. The hunting was extremely slow all day but our guide told us that later in the afternoon, when it got cloudy and the breeze started blowing, the birds would be flying. I’m glad I stuck around because he was correct! There were times I couldn’t shoot at birds coming in for loading shells (from all the missing!!! lol). It was a great time. I got my limit and even got to play with a couple of Drahtaar pups!!! Go over and check their page out.

If you’ve been around from the beginning of Sapony Creek Outdoors, you know who Brandon is. He’s the reason this platform even started. It was something he and I could do together. He lost interest quickly but not before teaching me how to edit videos, etc.

He recently graduated with his High School Diploma and his an Associate Degree at the same time! Now he’s off working on that bachelor's degree in graphic design at App State. Here’s a little something from move in day a few weeks back.

Finally got around to finishing the European mount for the last public land buck that I shot a few years ago. I miss going to that particular spot but old age has taken its toll on all of us so the days of going in by boat are probably behind us. I’ll post a link to the hunt video in the comments.

This happened more than 4 years ago. I thought for sure that this video would have gone viral when it happened…well it did on Facebook! I had to delete it because after more than 3 million views, I couldn’t keep up with deleting the comments from the animal rights people who didn’t understand that I probably saved the birds life from a coyote or bobcat eating it!

About a month ago, a 17 year old kid backed into my Duramax and busted up my front bumper. Instead of replacing it with a factory bumper, I replaced it with a powder coated off-road bumper. The oversized tires scrubbed the old bumper so this actually turned into a blessing in disguise.
