People often ask me what is a Sherpa. Most people hear the word and associate it with the Sherpas who assist climbers up Mt. Everest. In triathlon, the short and sweet explanation is, a Sherpa is someone who gets their Triathlete to the start line on race day by hauling all the gear, walks the sidewalks of the race city cheering for their crazy person like a crazy person and them gets them home after the race by hauling all the gear.
