The Pro Basketball Association announced a merger and naming rights today, August 1st, 2022 and will now be known as PBA by 1891. As a part of the agreement moving forward the two companies will become one and work hand in hand to manage, create, and develop markets throughout North America combining a unique mix of technology, vision, marketing, promotion, and professionalism to foster the growth of a family of brands many consider to be the highest level of professional basketball after the NBA and NBA G-League. As a part of the announcement, resources in the amount of $100,000.00 U.S. Dollars will be paid out in prize winnings for the top teams in the league over a 2 year period beginning with the Fall-Winter season 2022.
PBA by 1891 Commissioner Chris Terrell said “We’ve long thought with the detailed box scores for every game on the league website and eurobasket, televising every game played on Roku, Amazon Fire, the apps for IOS and Android, our following on YouTube and social media, the 1.1 million viewers on the platforms, play by play color commentary for every game played, the score and time widget with logos of the teams, commercials, and putting every game in 2 billion homes Worldwide where they can watch on their big screen TV, mobile devices, or computers, the marketing and promotion that we do to highlight the teams and players around the league; that the PBA was just on another level than any other US based Minor League in the space.
