DAWSON SUTTON SCORES RACKLEY ROOFING BATTLE OF BROADWAY 150 VICTORY; JAMIE SITES CLAIMS STREET STOCK WIN AT NASHVILLE FAIRGROUNDS SPEEDWAY
NASHVILLE, Tenn. β A tremendous night of racing kicked off NASCAR Week in Music City on Thursday as Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway hosted the Rackley Roofing Battle of Broadway, featuring a star-studded field of Pro Late Models, a competitive Street Stock division, and a special appearance from NASCAR Cup Series driver Zane Smith.
Fans were treated to an exciting evening both on and off the racetrack as Smith spent part of the night helping call the Street Stock feature from the announcer's booth before taking part in an on-stage interview and autograph session with fans.
On the track, the racing action lived up to expectations.
The evening began with the Rackley Roofing Battle of Broadway Street Stock 30, where Jamie Sites of Tipp City, Ohio led every lap en route to victory. Sites started from the pole position and quickly established himself as the driver to beat. Former Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway champion Chad Chaffin gave chase throughout the event and closed the gap during the final laps, but the effort to run down the leader ultimately took its toll as Sites pulled away over the closing circuits to secure the victory.
The Street Stock feature was remarkably clean, running caution-free from start to finish as the drivers showcased outstanding racecraft around the historic 5/8-mile oval.
Chaffin finished second, followed by Chuck Barnes Jr., Ayden Oliver, and Michael Pannell.

The headline event of the evening, the Rackley Roofing Battle of Broadway 150 for Pro Late Models, featured another strong field at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway this season.
Weston Marthaler and Chase Johnson led the 21-car field to the green flag, with Johnson utilizing the outside lane to grab the early advantage. Marthaler narrowly avoided disaster in the opening laps when he got sideways exiting turn two and somehow gathered the car back up while the competitors behind him avoided contact.
Jackson Boone emerged as the early challenger and powered around Johnson on lap 12 to take command of the race using the outside groove.
Meanwhile, Lebanon, Tennessee's Dawson Sutton was steadily making his presence felt. The 2024 Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Pro Late Model champion and current full-time NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series competitor earned fast time honors in qualifying but started from the fourth row after the inversion draw. Sutton patiently worked his way forward, picking off cars one at a time while Boone controlled the pace.
The race's only on-track caution flew on lap 35 when John Bradley spun in turn two. Following the restart, Boone remained out front while Sutton began applying pressure from the outside lane and former track champion Hunter Wright advanced through the field on the bottom groove.
Sutton moved into second place on lap 57 and quickly tracked down Boone. Two laps later, he completed the pass for the lead and began managing the race from the front.
The event remained exceptionally clean throughout the evening, with Bradley's spin serving as the lone organic caution before the scheduled lap-100 break. That set the stage for a 50-lap sprint to the finish.
During the final segment, Brett Robinson and Nashville's own Aidan Potter charged through the field. Robinson took over second place and began reeling in Sutton while Potter followed closely behind into third.
Sutton, however, had conserved enough tire and found additional speed over the closing laps, gradually extending his advantage while Robinson was forced to defend against Potter's challenge.
When the checkered flag waved, Sutton crossed the finish line 1.382 seconds ahead of Robinson to claim the prestigious Rackley Roofing Battle of Broadway 150 victory.
Robinson finished second, followed by Potter, Wright, and Boone in the top five.

The combination of clean racing, long green-flag runs, multiple racing grooves, and a packed night of fan activities made the Rackley Roofing Battle of Broadway another memorable chapter in Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway history.
The next event at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is scheduled for Saturday, June 27 and will feature seven divisions of racing, including Pro Late Models, Street Stocks, Limited Late Models, Pure Stocks, Pest Doctor Front Runners, Legends, and CP Race Wear Bandoleros.

π DAWSON SUTTON WINS THE RACKLEY ROOFING BATTLE OF BROADWAY 150!
The Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway crowd was treated to a tremendous display of short track racing Thursday night as Lebanon, Tennessee's Dawson Sutton charged from the fourth row to score the victory in the Rackley Roofing Battle of Broadway 150.
Weston Marthaler and Chase Johnson led the talented 21-car field to the green flag, with Johnson using the outside groove to grab the early lead while Marthaler fought to maintain position behind him. One of the biggest moments of the opening laps came when Marthaler got sideways exiting turn two and somehow gathered it back up, while the drivers behind him expertly avoided what could have been a massive pileup.
As Johnson paced the field, Franklin's Jackson Boone began reeling him in. Boone found speed in the outside lane and drove around Johnson on lap 12 to take command of the race.
Meanwhile, all eyes were on Dawson Sutton. The 2024 Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Pro Late Model champion and current full-time NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series competitor started from the fourth row after drawing the seventh pill following his fast-time qualifying effort. Sutton methodically worked his way forward, picking off cars one at a time as the laps clicked away.
The race's first and only on-track caution flew on lap 35 when John Bradley spun in turn two. Following the restart, Boone remained in command while Sutton went to work on the high side and Hunter Wright charged forward on the bottom. With three former Nashville champions running nose-to-tail at the front, the battle intensified.
Sutton moved into second on lap 57 and wasted little time hunting down Boone. Just two laps later, he completed the pass for the lead and never looked back.
The race remained exceptionally clean, with the lone organic caution being Bradley's spin, before the scheduled lap-100 break set up a thrilling 50-lap sprint to the finish.
As the final segment unfolded, Brett Robinson and Nashville's own Aidan Potter came alive. Robinson moved past Boone for second and began chasing Sutton, while Potter followed him through the field into third. Sutton had conserved his equipment throughout the race and found another gear over the closing laps, gradually stretching his advantage while Robinson fought to hold off the charging Potter.
When the checkered flag waved after 150 laps, Sutton crossed the line 1.382 seconds ahead of Robinson to claim one of the biggest victories of the season at his home track.

π JAMIE SITES GOES FLAG-TO-FLAG TO WIN THE RACKLEY ROOFING BATTLE OF BROADWAY STREET STOCK 30! π
Jamie Sites proved to be the class of the field Thursday evening at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, leading all 30 laps of the Rackley Roofing Battle of Broadway Street Stock feature to score an impressive victory during NASCAR Week festivities in Music City.
Starting from the pole position, Sites wasted little time establishing control of the race, but he was never able to completely relax. Former Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway champion Chad Chaffin spent much of the race in pursuit and closed the gap during the closing stages as he searched for a way around the Ohio driver.
With the laps winding down, Chaffin threw everything he had at the leader, but the effort appeared to take its toll over the final circuits as Sites was able to pull away and secure the victory by 1.739 seconds. The race was exceptionally clean from start to finish, running caution-free and allowing the competitors to settle into a hard-fought battle around the historic 5/8-mile oval.
Chuck Barnes Jr. completed the podium in third, while Ayden Oliver and Michael Pannell rounded out the top five.
