Barre is for BEGINNERS! And this is your week —-> our Open House with FREE classes is going on now until Sunday. Grab your pass, in our app 💜💚
We promise all ages, abilities and levels work out under one roof here. Here’s our top 4 reasons why you need to try nb in 2022:
1) No experience necessary. This isn’t a dance class, it’s not ballet (the barre is a stability prop - that’s all!) ,and you don’t need to have “rhythm”. It’s strength training using exclusively your own body weight - you just need yourself!
2) You’ll never bore of your workout here. Not only do we change the class choreography daily, (you may never take the same class twice!) we also offer 3 different class formats, barre50 (full body strength conditioning), barre30 (a condensed version), and barreHIIT (interval, low-impact cardio).
3) We have beginners in class nearly every day, alongside women who have taken hundreds of classes. Both are equally challenged due to our scalable, easy to follow exercises. Stay in the foundational sprint (think smaller, slower, controlled movements), or go after optional challenges when you’re ready, like adding in upper body, increasing tempo, or range of motion.
4) Not only will you notice newly defined shape in your glutes, waist, upper body and legs, you’ll decrease stress, improve your mood, boost energy and make new friends. Our workout doesn’t feel like a chore, it’s fun! And our studio becomes your second home - it’s in our namesake after all 😉
Neighborhood Barre Green Hills
Workouts for the every BODY, in a fun, community-inspired home away from home. Strength stretch, sculpt and cardio under one roof.
Not all barre studios are the same. At NEIGHBORHOOD barre, we're breaking the barriers of boutique fitness, creating a barre-based workout for a woman's physiology, and changing the fitness scene with a local, community vibe. Our instructors are working women and fellow moms who are Barre Stars turned pro's - previous clients who fell in love with our studio atmosphere and the ever-changing choreo

Do you see yourself how others see you?
How about trying to treating yourself like you do your loved ones? That includes how you talk to yourself, how you look at yourself, and ultimately how you take care of yourself.
You have an open invitation to step up your self care with us this week. Reserve your complimentary guest pass using our link in bio, visiting the nb app or the nb website. You can take up to 3 free classes at both studios, now until Sunday.

There’s a misconception about the use of the physical barre in our classes.
Did you know the barre is essentially another prop we use, just like our pilates ball, resistance tube and ankle weights? (p.s. that’s why you can *totally* do our classes from home without one!)
This new thigh exercise progression is the perfect example of NOT using the barre.
In this set, we’re using the pilates ball in your hands to activate the deeper core muscles (transverse abdominals) that strengthen your stabilizing muscles. If you begin to struggle with balance, or feel the work migrate out of the thighs…put the ball down.
Grab the barre, recenter your body weight, and refocus your mental muscles on your legs! We always encourage you to try it, if you feel safe. Even taking a challenge for 5 - 10 seconds one day, it’s 5 - 10 seconds stronger than you were yesterday. 💪🏾

This month, a lot of us start to think about our goals and resolutions for the new year.
We want to caution you on the “myths” of why you should exercise.
It will never stick if you’re doing it to:
🚫 Punish yourself to ‘burn off’ what you ate.
🚫 To be skinny.
🚫 Counting how many calories you burn.
Instead think about how moving:
✨ Makes you FEEL (more energy, newfound strength, pride in learning something new).
✨ Creates community (a neighborhood of new, nonjudgmental friends that support you).
✨ Can be a gateway to better health (mentally, spiritually, and physically).
What is your WHY for barre-ing with us? Share with us below and we’ll feature on our stories! Let’s motivate and inspire each other to enter 2022 with a shift in mindset. ✨

We are so conditioned to think “more is more.” Which can leave us questioning ourselves, asking “Am I doing enough?” or thinking I “should” do a longer/better/harder/faster workout.
We don’t need to be doing hours of exercise each day (especially cardio or intensive movement) - it’s unsustainable and can even be unhealthy.
It’s trite but true, consistency is 🔑. Showing up more often, even in smaller chunks, helps to build a habit, which equals your long-term success (withy anything!).
Start small (even 10 minutes is great!) and keep going.

P.S. if you want to decorate your favorite crop top/sports bra so you don’t get too warm, that’s cool with us too 😉

Are you a “yes (wo)man?”
People pleasing can be at an all-time high over the holiday season. Here’s what we encourage you to ask yourself before responding to the next request of you:
“Will this make me feel depleted or replenished?”
For us, we’ve never regretted a barre workout. But we have regretted going to one too many holiday parties, changing our mind or answer after we already communicated a boundary, or burning ourselves at both ends without enough rest or self care.
Take care of #1 this season 💜💚

Ever heard of the concept of “neuroplasticity”? 🧠
Neuroscience proves that you can form new neural pathways that reprogram your subconscious beliefs to create new ones.
This month, we’re all being more mindful of gratitude. Remember that your toughest critic is the inner critic. Override negative self-talk in your head with a positive statement, both consciously + subconsciously. Positive affirmations should be said aloud, and repeated more than once a day. Bonus points if you say them in front of a mirror! (Yes a rear-view mirror counts too 😉)
Don’t forget that you can leave yourself reminders of these throughout your day. Put a note in your car, set multiple ‘alarms’ that repeat daily in your phone to pop up. Or sign up for an app, like “I am - Daily Affirmations” that will naturally prompt you throughout the day. You can even like or save the affirmations that resonate with you most and make them your wallpaper, etc.
P.S. you never know when you might just find a note like this left at the studio for you 💜
