Thanks to Tom being an Honorary Commander in the 621st Contingency Response Wing at Joint Base Maguire Dix Lakhust, I was invited to speak at a leadership retreat for 55 air force leaders. What a dynamic and interesting group of people. The past few months I have shared my kindness message with such a diverse audience- the entire middle school at The Pennjngton School, a church group, a women's club, a the parent's association at a Montessori nursery school, a Wellness center in Massachusetts and now the military. What this has reinforced for me is that Kindess is a Universal message. Age and status mean nothing. Everyone can benefit from both I initiating and recieving kindess!! Tap into your well of kindess. Please consider me for your next speaker.

I had the pleasure and privilege of sharing my kindness mission with a delightful audience at the Doylestown Presbyterian Church on Saturday. There are so many kindness ambassadors in our world and many are part of this community! It was so wonderful to reconnect with old friends, Mac and Katy Schafer.
Remember.....kindness is a choice we can all make.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with gratitude for one another! I had the joy of joining Leslie Kane on the Why Not Today podcast to talk about the power of appreciation and my year of writing one handwritten letter every day. This small intentional practice changed my outlook, my health, and my purpose, and I am grateful we were able to share this story together.

Leslie is inviting her listeners to take the December Kindness Challenge by writing one appreciation letter a day or choosing their own start date if they are listening at a different time. I LOVE this idea and hope it inspires you to slow down and notice the people who make your life brighter.

You can listen to our conversation by clicking on the link in my bio.

Favorite Day!!! Oct. 1st is when I buy my gourds and pumpkins!! I adore gourds. Each one is unique and has a personality all it own. It also happens to be Ren and Jenna's 9th anniversary!
What is your Favorite Day? 🎃🎃

"It's simply not possible to be alive without making an impact on the world that surrounds us. Every action taken affects the whole as greatly as actions not taken. And when it comes to making the world a better place, what we choose not to do can be just as important as what we choose to do." I love this quote from the DailyOm reminding us how powerful we each are. We each can do our small part everyday to make a positive difference in our communites so that the next generation can enjoy a loving, beautiful world. Share appreciations, withhold judgement, pick up litter, put down your phone, make eye contact, tell the children in your life that they are loved....engage. Our children and grandchildren are watching us.🌞

In just a few weeks' time, I had the privilege of sharing my kindness mission with elemetary school students at Riverside Elementary School in Princeton, NJ, and then the largest senior community in PA . Both audiences were completely engaging from 8 years old to 93 years old. It was such a reinforcement that kindness is a universal message that lifts people up, empowers people, and connects people. In this photo with the kids, I asked them to write specifically what they appreciate about their teachers. To help them learn how to FEEL kindness, not just talk about it, I then read them out loud to the teachers to see if we "could make their day." The answer was a resounding YES filled with tears and smiles. Please go and make someone's day today. That's something tangible each one of us can do during this unsettling time in our world. We can make a difference, one kind action at a time. 🤝

While sharing my kindness mission with the faculty at Community Park Elemetary School, I told the story from my book about the woman who made me the best Chai Latte ever. A woman in the audience raised her hand and said, " After this presentation, I am going to make you my homemade chai latte!" True to her word, while I was signing books, Mona left the school theater and magically whipped up her special chai latte and delivered to me a steaming cup of deliciousness. She nourished not only my palette with that sweet dose of unexpected kindness but my soul as well. I appreciate you, Mona. ☕️

I found this heart balloon lying in my front yard. When I went to throw it away, I saw this message on it...."Love you so much. Miss you. Your Mom + Dad." My heart swelled after reading this as I imagined that this balloon was sent off with a certain amount of heartbreak associated with it. I feel compelled to hold on to this heart. I wonder if came if from the street around the corner or traveled a far distance. I would love to find the mom and dad who sent this balloon into the universe and let them know their balloon found its way into safe keeping. Anyone know where this heart came from?

Like the mug says..Kindness Matters. I just spent the last 4 days with our newest grandson Enzo (and his wonderful parents), and I was reminded over and over of the gift of being fully present. Whenever I looked into his eyes and he held tightly onto my finger or when he gave me his adorable baby giggles or he nuzzled into my neck, I was fully and deeply present. I read recently that "our ministry is our presence." Being fully present is one of the kindest things we can do for ourselves and for others. Thank you, Enzo, for that gift.
