Have you tried wrapping your own bartape?
There are several schools of thought on how to properly wrap bartape. Do you do a figure 8? Do you use the cheater strips? Which direction do you wrap? Ginish tape, electrical tape, glue?? Put a cork in it? 🍾
Alright home mechanics - would you boot this?
Luckily Bruce we had his tire size in stock. We always have almost every tire size available. A flat like this typically forces you to replace the tire (if you have one).
If you didn’t have a tire as an option, you could use a boot as an emergency repair, but the success would depend on how damaged the tire wall was and the quality of the boot. You could use tape, a candy wrapper, trash, a dollar bill - anything to give the tube less of a chance to break through the weak point in the tire.

The ideal candidates for our Bicycle Mechanic / Retail Sales position will have bicycle mechanic experience. Responsibilities include working with shop managers to balance inventory, ordering, repairs, and sustaining the overall health of the shop.
A typical day at our bike shop includes:
- setting up bikes for tours / sale
- keeping retail displays organized
- talking with customers about bike needs
- handling basic ordering / inventory
- lots of bike repairs
Candidates must be able to work weekends.

We're still open curbside for anyone who needs a repair or is interested in purchasing bicycle stuff. We finally have kids bikes in stock, a fresh batch of FAT RIPPERS from SE, some Bianchi road bikes, and one ... yes one new mountain bike.
The bike industry is still experiencing shortages of lots of parts and will be for the foreseeable future. So if we don't have the right part, we will do our best to make something / anything work. The return of the goblin fix!
