I taught Pilates to Justus Sheffield, a professional baseball player who came to my studio last fall and this winter, to gain strength and flexibility. Today is National Cancer Survivor Day! This day is to honor those individuals who through, great courage and determination choose to accept their cancer and move towards being cancer free. I have been fortunate to work with many cancer survivors using the modality of Pilates to help them achieve greater movement in their bodies again after chemo, surgery and radiation treatment. The photo shown is of Helen L. and myself. Helen has been doing Pilates with me since she was originally diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer years ago.
