Happy birthday, Tennessee! Tennessee celebrates its 230th birthday (Statehood Day) on June 1, marking the date in 1796 when President George Washington signed the bill admitting the territory as the 16th U.S. state. 230 years sure looks good on you.

The Tennessee Pipeline Emergency Response Initiative (TN PERI), a section of the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association, successfully hosted its inaugural training introduction event for West Tennessee today at the Jackson Energy Authority Auditorium in Jackson, Tennessee.

The event brought together 110 participants, with all 22 West Tennessee counties represented, demonstrating a strong commitment to emergency preparedness, pipeline safety, and regional collaboration throughout the region and across the state.

Special thanks are extended to Siddons-Martin Emergency Group representatives Junior Johnson and Richie Storie for providing a wonderful meal for attendees. Appreciation is also extended to Jackson Energy Authority for hosting the event and providing an outstanding venue for this important gathering.

TN PERI looks forward to continuing these educational and networking opportunities in both Middle and East Tennessee in the near future. Please keep an eye out for upcoming training events coming to your area soon.

The Tennessee Pipeline Emergency Response Initiative remains committed to strengthening partnerships, improving response capabilities, and enhancing emergency preparedness across Tennessee.
