Our place-based, experiential learning retreat will explore and learn from Gullah-Geechee history, traditions, and culture work. Through field trips participants will learn how community leaders in the region are navigating ecological and economic change. Sustainable agriculture and ethical community partnerships will be the fertile ground for us to consider how we -- leaders, educators and scholars -- can apply these and other innovative principles in their own institutional context.
