Meet this year’s Charity Workout beneficiary: Marine Corps veteran Tyler Vargas-Andrews.

Tyler sustained life-changing injuries while serving our country. After more than 45 surgeries and years of rehabilitation, he has refused to allow those injuries to define his life.

Today, Tyler lives in Tennessee with his fiancée, fellow Marine Corps veteran Victoria, and their first child. He now travels the country as a motivational speaker, encouraging others to choose resilience in the face of adversity.

When we considered who this year’s Charity Workout should benefit, Tyler’s story stood out—not only because of what he endured, but because of how he continues to lead, serve, and inspire others.

On September 19, our community will come together to help build Tyler’s home gym in partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation.

We have already raised $6,000 toward our $15,000 goal, but we still have work to do.

Join us for the workout, make a donation, or simply help us spread Tyler’s story.

A lot of Klug Fitness gets built right here.

Programming. Scheduling. Hiring. Client conversations. Numbers. Ideas that work. Plenty that don’t.

10 years ago, I mostly thought about becoming a better trainer.

These days, I spend a lot more time thinking about how to build a better company, create opportunities for our team, and give great coaches the freedom to do what they do best.

Different season.

Same goal: keep getting better.

On August 26, 2021, Tyler Vargas-Andrews was serving with the United States Marine Corps during the evacuation at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan.

That day, a su***de bomber detonated an explosive just a few feet from where Tyler and his team were standing.
The attack claimed the lives of 13 American service members.

Tyler survived but suffered catastrophic injuries, including the loss of his right arm above the elbow and his left leg above the knee.

His life changed in an instant.

Over the coming years, Tyler would endure more than 45 surgeries and countless hours of rehabilitation.

This September, our Klug Fitness community is honored to partner with the Gary Sinise Foundation to help build Tyler’s home gym. It will be a space that will support his long-term health, rehabilitation, and independence.
Every registration, every donation, and every person who shows up helps make that possible.
