Shoulder health is about far more than mobility! It’s also about creating strength, stability, and control through full range of motion 💪!
Today’s session focused on improving scapular movement, rotator cuff activation, and building strength. The exercises shown are a part of the toolbox used to help reduce joint stress/discomfort and improve long-term resilience both in and out of the gym!
When the shoulder complex moves efficiently, pressing strength, posture, pulling, and overall durability can improve! If you have been struggling with shoulder discomfort or simply wanting to improve in that area, Paragon offers a structural balance program that could be of benefit to you!
Becoming a part of the family can lead to you taking charge in building yourself in areas where you may have been struggling and allow you to find more enjoyment in your day to day life!

Sometimes the necessary thing to do is less! More weight, volume, and intensity isn’t always the answer when recovery, stress, sleep, and energy are part of the equation too.
Some of the progress you may be missing in your training is from showing up when motivation is low. At times it can be doing one less rep because you are learning to listen to what your body needs.
In addition to tracking what you lift, it can be of huge benefit to track how you feel as well! Better recovery and consistency can lead to the long term strength development you’ve been looking for!

Most people are addicted to feeling tired, not getting stronger!
Sweating more, doing more, crawling out of the gym exhausted… none of that guarantees progress. Your body doesn’t adapt to fatigue. It adapts to stress that it can recover from 💥!
The goal of strength training isn’t to “feel smoked.”
The goal is adaptation.
☑️Better movement.
☑️More strength.
☑️More muscle.
☑️More resilience.
☑️Less wear and tear over time.
Good training should challenge you, not bury you.
💥 Train hard enough to force adaptation.
🔁Recover well enough to repeat it.
💪That’s how real progress is built!
Movement assessments aren’t just about finding what’s “wrong”. They’re about discovering how your body moves so you can train smarter, move better, and build lasting fitness💥!
When we assess first, we can identify imbalances, mobility restrictions, stability issues, and compensation patterns before they turn into pain or plateaus. This approach leads to better performance, fewer injuries, and workouts programmed specifically for you!
Fitness isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your training shouldn’t be either💪!

Strong through every season💪🏼
Prior to and during her first pregnancy, co-owner Kristin Hughes continued to train and move with intention while preparing her body for motherhood.
Kristin gained a whole new perspective on what strength really means during pregnancy and postpartum. It’s not about “bouncing back,” it’s about supporting your body, building resilience, and honoring each phase.
That’s exactly why Paragon Strength & Fitness created its Pregnancy & Postpartum Programs:
☑️Strength training tailored to a changing body
☑️Core & pelvic floor support that truly matters
☑️Programming from a trainer who has lived it
☑️A supportive, encouraging community
Whether you’re currently pregnant, newly postpartum, or further along in your journey, Paragon meets you where you are and helps you move forward with confidence! Feel free to reach out to us to learn more or get started!
Disclaimer: This post is not medical advice! Paragon acknowledges every pregnancy is different so ensure that you consult your qualified healthcare provider before starting or continuing any strength training during pregnancy.
Stretching after your exercises isn’t extra, it’s essential😤!
Between sets is a great time to stretch, allowing for acute improvements in flexibility, accelerating muscle recovery, increased blood flow to working muscles, and allowing the muscle to better return to its resting state post workout.
Pushing hard is great and even necessary depending on what phase of training you are in. However, you can also take some time to ensure that your muscles are in the best position to perform optimally (nutrition aside) during your training through timely stretching⌚️!

Supplementation can be a great way to compliment your training💥!
Supplements should not be the main driver but rather, they should be used to amplify the benefits of proper nutrition and recovery 💪!
Not your average gym 💪🔥
Paragon is where serious training meets a private, top-tier experience! No distractions, top of the line equipment, and a space designed to deliver results!
Agonist supersets aren’t just about the burn but more about maximizing output 💥
Pairing movements that target the same muscle group (Ex: press into a press) pushes your muscle to recruit more muscle fibers and adapt to the current stimulus. Agonist supersets allow for:
☑️Greater time under tension
☑️Increased muscle fiber recruitment
☑️Strength carryover across different angles
Here’s an example of the setup of a superset:
Heavy 1st movement ➡️ Lighter controlled 2nd movement
Landmine Press ➡️ Semi-Pronated Cable Press
(Both targeting anterior deltoids and upper pectoralis major both as primary and assistive movers)
Zercher Squat ➡️ TRX Cyclist Squat
(Both having the quads as the primary movers)
Remember that you are not just chasing a burn, but teaching your muscles to produce high force under fatigue 💥

Rest isn’t a break from progress, it is progress!
Muscle doesn’t grow in the gym…it grows when you recover. Quality sleep allows your body to repair muscle tissue, build strength, and regulate key hormones that drive results. Consistently skipping rest doesn’t make you tougher, it slows you down!
Recovery also keeps your hormones in check which helps with metabolism and your daily mood. When you recover well, your energy and focus will be a reflection of that!
When training hard, try to recover harder! This balance is what leads to real results!
