Proper programming is vital to your success in the gym.

If someone comes to me and wants to work a specific part of their body (e.g. their chest, arms, glutes, etc.), I’m going to create their program with that in mind.

It sounds simple, but you’d be surprised how many people miss this and follow a program that doesn’t align with their goals.

Here’s the main tips to remember whenever you perform split squats:

▫️Aim to have your back knee fall under your hip as it lowers toward the floor.

▫️Try to keep 80-90% of your weight in your front leg. That’s the one that should be doing the work.

▫️Lower your dumbbells straight down to the floor. Don’t let their momentum swing you forward or backward.

One of the biggest mistakes you can make in the gym is having a program of exercises that you hate.

If you have this, you’re more than likely not going to follow through with the program.

Make sure that exercise is something you (at least somewhat) enjoy.

Make sure it’s effective, obviously, but also make sure it’s something you like to do. It’ll be easier to make a habit if this is the case.
