The kettlebell swing is one of the most honest movements in the gym. You drive through the hips, you keep the core braced, and you let the weight do what physics tells it to do. It builds posterior chain strength, it sharpens your conditioning, and it carries over to almost everything else we ask you to do on the floor.
Every athlete in our gym started somewhere. Some started with a lighter weight and a coach walking them through the setup, and that's exactly how it should be. We meet you where you are, and we scale the load until the movement looks right.

Today's workout comes down to three movements. We're doing step-ups with a med ball, wall balls, and box jumps.
It looks simple on paper, and it looks different for every athlete on the floor. You can grab a heavier ball or a lighter ball. You can step up to a higher box or a lower one. You can push the pace or hold it steady. The workout adjusts to you, but the intensity stays the same.
We've been a CrossFit affiliate in Nashville for twelve years. We have coaches who actually coach, and we have air conditioning, which is something you won't find at most CrossFit boxes.

Here's what a WOD at CrossFit Music City looks like in order.
You run outside. You row inside. You hit the bike. You knock out burpees. Then you repeat the whole thing until the clock tells you to stop.
This is what we mean when we talk about GPP, or general physical preparedness. We train short and fast. We train long and slow. We train heavy and light. We don't specialize in one thing because life doesn't specialize in one thing either.
We want you to be the strongest dad on the block, the fittest fireman in the station, or the nurse with the most stamina on the floor. Whatever you do out there, we want you to be better at it because of what you do in here.

You get to pick your hard in here.
We use bands for the warm-up, the Echo bike for the engine, the barbell for the strength piece, and the pull-up bar for the gymnastics work.
Every athlete in the room is working on something different inside the same workout, and the coach is watching all of it. You'll get cues on the bike, scaling options on the rig, and a tap on the shoulder when your setup is off.
We have credentialed coaches on the floor every single class. That includes every coach we employ, not just the owner.

This is the room before the 5am class walks in.
The rings are hung, the pull-up bars are set, and the bikes are lined up and waiting. In a few minutes, the lights will be on, the music will be up, and a coach will be walking the floor with a whiteboard full of work for the day.
We've spent twelve years building this room into a place where real athletes can train hard, recover well, and actually enjoy showing up. The air conditioning is running, the showers are clean, and the recovery suite is open. None of that is standard at a CrossFit box, and all of it matters when you train here five days a week.

This is what a Tuesday metcon looks like. We're hitting wall balls and box jumps with a room full of athletes who are meeting the workout where they are.
Some athletes are going RX and some are hitting a target lower than the athlete next to them.
That's the whole point. We don't believe in RX or bust. We believe in the strongest version of you on the day you showed up.
