We are excited to begin learning the art of Japanese swordsmanship at Nashville Shotokan Karate Club under the kind guidance of Yuki Yoneyama Sensei!

Every new journey starts with the first step. We look forward discovering another path within the traditional Japanese martial arts. 🤩

Great training today with an old friend of our club, Kevin Downard Sensei from Cincinnati, OH, and his sempai, Cindy!
We spent the evening working on the transition from Kihon Ippon Kumite to Jiyu Ippon Kumite, focusing on timing, distance, and how structured practice naturally develops into more free and dynamic movement.

Julia recently relocated to Tennessee and previously trained under Sensei Dimitri Papadopoulos at the New Orleans Shotokan Academy. From her very first class, she fit right in with our dojo family, bringing a strong karate foundation, a kind heart, a positive attitude, and genuine enthusiasm for training.
