A huge thank you to the Metro Parks Maintenance Team for all of their hard work in getting us back up and running.
We’re excited to officially announce that the Shelby Park Community Center gymnasium has reopened! We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for basketball, skating, pickleball, volleyball, fitness programs, and all the fun happening in our gym.
Be sure to check out our upcoming programming beginning in August—we have something for all ages, and we can’t wait to see you back at Shelby!

Our campers had an amazing time during the show-and-tell, learning about the equipment, fire safety, and what it takes to serve our community. Thank you for making today such a fun and educational experience!

A huge thank you to Friends of Shelby Park , Grant, and Perry for taking our 6–8-year-old campers on an incredible nature adventure through the beautiful Shelby Bottoms! 🌿🦎
Our campers were able to observe local wildlife, spot several critters in their natural habitat, explore a small cave, learn about the Cave Spring salamander, and discover how to identify poison ivy and, most importantly, how to safely avoid it.
Hands-on experiences like these spark curiosity, build confidence, and help our campers develop a deeper appreciation for the amazing natural environment right here in our community.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and creating such a fun and educational experience for our youth!
