Congratulations are in order for Kale Eversull, son of Van and Angela Eversull. He placed 9th at the AQHA Youth World Show with his beautiful gelding Ace of Cool. Kudos to the Old River Farms team for all their hard work as well. Winning at the AQHA World level is quite an achievement and it all started with participation in the Northwest La Horse Club and 4H Horse Project Club! Praise the Lord for His healing hand and guiding presence.

The Horse Club will be traveling to West Monroe next week as out kid haved done another great job qualifying for the State Show. It will be a busy week for the kids as they will be competing in not only in equestrian events but demostrations and public speaking as well. I would like to say I am very proud of them and I am blessed to get to be in the company of these great kids. I am sure that they will take what they have learned and move on to be leaders of their generation.

The Nortwest Louisiana 4-H Horse will be having a fund raiser this Friday July 6 at Raising Canes in Nachitoches from 4-8pm with a portion of the of the procedes going to the club to help fund their events. Tell the cashier you are with 4-H and 15% of the cost of your meal will be donated to the club. Thanks for your help and support for our youth.

The Northwest Louisiana 4-H Horse Club will be traveling to West Monroe's Ike Hamilton Horse Pavillion for the state 4-H Horse Show. Members on the club will be competing in various events ranging from Presentations to halter and showmanship. Conner, Tucker, Kale, Ian, and Kayla have worked hard in their preparation for this show and we would like to invite everyone out to show their support. Events start on Thursday July 12. Thanks for your continued support.

4-H Meeting on Saturday, May 19 at 1:00 pm. Jessica Kay will be providing a demonstration of how she works with her speed event horse. This is our last meeting for the year so please come! Questions about directions...send a message please!

Exhibitors must have possession/ownership/lease of their horses by April 1, 2010. Grade horse certificates and identification of horse owned by immediate family member must be completed and filed in Extension Service (4-H) or FFA advisor’s office by April 1, 2012. Also if you are leasing a horse, the papers must be in the 4-H office by April 1, 2012. The link for a lease form should follow this post.

Agreement between 4-H exhibitor and owner of horse to lease the horse for the purpose of exhibiting at the State 4-H/FFA Horse Show.

The new profile picture was taken at our January meeting. We had a large group of 4hers. Not all are in the picture but the ones that are were helping to determine a body condition score for one of the four rescue colts.
