Max Effort Deadlifts 💥

Zini hit a 15 lb. PR today 265 lb. on the bar.

Consistency and trusting the process paying off. Lifting heavy with good form builds resilience and helps reduce injury risk over time.

Stacking progress the right way. More to come.

[FFE SSB SPLIT SQUATS]

The front foot elevated split squat with the SSB bar is a great exercise for strengthening the quads and glutes. I have been having my client Zine do these before heavy deadlifts and she’s been getting stronger at them week after week. The benefits from front foot elevated split squats are;

✅ helps push her center of mass backwards to help her stay vertical throughout the entire movement.
✅ unilateral movement pattern which is great for reducing lower back pain and injury reduction.
✅ great for strengthening the quads which helps your initial push off the ground for deadlifts.

I’ve been working my client for almost 3 months and she’s down 18lb. She reached out to me because she wanted to improve her health. She wanted more consistency with her diet and needed help with healthy meal options. We added in more fruits and vegetables with good carbohydrate sources to her diet. And I advised her to increase her protein intake which has helped her stay full throughout the day.

I’m very proud of her, and the commitment she’s made to a healthier lifestyle.

My client Andrew is doing a lean gaining phase. He started his nutrition with me back in October of last year at bodyweight of 174lb.

He’s now currently 185lb and has done a great job putting on muscle while staying lean. He does personal training withe me 1x per week, and is currently training 4x per week in total. Great job Andrew!

I’ve been working with my client Steve for the past month and he’s down 10lb. He started at 284lb and is now currently 274lb.

I’ve known Steve for 20 years cause we were football teammates at Springfield College. He wants to lose weight and be able to run 5 miles continuously. We’ve added in daily walking to help speed up his metabolism and a simple meal plan to help give him energy throughout the day. Great job so far old friend!

I’ve been helping my client Zine with her nutrition to boost her performance in the gym and increase her energy outside of the gym. She’s lost 3lb in a month. Although weight loss wasn’t her goal, she needed a healthy meal plan to improve her overall well-being. She now has more energy at work and better digestion. We’ve also helped decrease her inflammation. As a busy mother of three and professor at Boston College, she’s been doing personal training with me twice a week for the past three years and has made significant progress in her strength. I’m grateful to have a client like Zine.

Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍁🍂

5 Nutrition/Lifestyle mistakes the guy on the left made.

1. I ate too much fat which made me go over my calorie intake. Fats have the highest amount of calories per gram and they’re easier to eat in volume. I would eat too much fat to get my daily protein goal and it wasn’t necessary. I would store more fat than I would burn.

2. I would eat fast food like Chic Filet and McDonalds 2-3 times per week and think it wouldn’t have an effect on my metabolism. I use to think I can ‘work it off’ in the gym but the truth is you can out train a bad diet. I ate too many cheat meals. lol

3. I wasn’t eating enough carbohydrates for fuel.
Carbohydrates are your primary fuel source when it comes to exercise. You need them especially if you’re physically active. I’ve lost 91lb. and ate lots of carbs to get there. Some days I would consume 750g and I was consistently losing weight while doing it.

4. I use to drink on the weekends. When you drink alcohol it makes it easier for you to go over your daily calorie intake because alcohol is made of calories. And you might eat more when you drink because it may increase your appetite and influence hormones linked to satiety (the feeling of fullness) like leptin and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). Alcohol also disrupts your sleep which can have a negative effect on your metabolism.

5. I didn’t do enough cardio. I would maybe do cardio 2 times per week if I felt like it. The truth is cardio is a game changer when it comes to losing weight. You can increase your daily calorie expenditure with walking 5-6 times per week. Even 1-2 miles daily can make a huge difference! So do your cardio and try to get your walking outside to get sunlight. Sunlight exposure helps with melatonin production which will help you sleep at night.

Some before after photos of my weight loss goal. I weighed 271lb on the left and 181lb on the right. This was a 15
month process of hard work and determination. A lot of ups and downs but it was worth it to me. I was able to get to my goal weight of 180lb to make it a 91lb weight cut! I’m currently reverse dieting and might be do a bodybuilding show in 2025! Stay tuned thank you for support and positive messages. It’s time to grow and get stronger!
