I honestly don’t know what day this is🤣 we had to take a break last week because of Hand Foot Mouth so this was either Friday or Monday…I’m not sure. I’m catching up on lessons so this was 3 lessons ago. Get ready for some posting!!👏🏼

Float is better without any help and I can tell she’s trying to rollback but can’t quite get it..yet😬

Lasted a whole 10 minute lesson (and did REALLY well!) and realized when we got out that she had pooped at some point during the lesson🫠 Good thing she was last of the day and the swim diaper held It In!

If anyone ever poops in the pool, we get out. The amount of bacteria in f***s plus babies drinking water…gross!! 🤢 We get out for a full 24 hours, shock the pool, monitor levels and clean the filter!

Here are a few ways you can support your child during lessons:

✅ Make handoffs brief and upbeat!

✅ Do not apologize to your child for the fact that they need to swim. We don’t apologize for putting them in a car seat, right?

✅ If your child is experiencing separation anxiety, watch lessons from an area that is out of their line of site.
✨ You’re not the first parent needing to do this, so your instructor knows the best place for you to watch—just ask!✨

✅ Greet your child with a smile (even if they’re crying) after lessons!

✅ Come back tomorrow!
✨You’re teaching them that they are strong enough to do hard things!✨

Day 11 teaching my own sweet baby survival swim!💕 She did so much better this day. She still cries when we are about to go under or about to float but as soon as she’s up and cuddling she’s good! Her float is better and she’s starting to work a little harder on the roll. She will get it eventually! Like with my swim babies; sometimes one day it just clicks and they got it perfect! I can’t wait for that day!!

If you ever have any questions about lessons feel free to message me! Between 5 kids and 2 jobs it may take me a bit to get back with you but I will!!💙

Day 10! I’ll be honest yall. This day got me. I feel like we’ve started all over since switching sides. It’s like it’s easier for her but still have to teach her to do it. She’s hungry and wants to nurse, she’s teething and so tired! But we have to do it. I almost cried this lesson. Sometimes lessons are harder than others. As an instructor, I know that. But I know, and all of the other moms know that it truly is the best thing for them. Get them in when they’re this little. Let them get big mad and frustrated. But when you see them on the last day, oh what an amazing thing it is to watch. Yes, they may still cry, but to see them fall into the water with clothes on, and watch them save THEMSELVES without the help of a floatation device or someone coming to rescue them, it is miraculous! The tears truly start flowing from us moms when we see how capable they are of such hard things. That’s what I hold to on hard days like today. The end result is worth the tears. And I promise they don’t last. Most of these will come back next year and absolutely love lessons! But for today my mama heart is struggling teaching her💕

What other mamas have a hard time watching those tough lessons? I truly have a good mixture of moms that cry during lessons and moms that laugh, keep it positive, and make it fun. And to be completely transparent, the second ones are the ones whose babies start to calm down and love it quicker!❤️
