Senior Saturday with Virginia Shicks!!
“Dance has been constant throughout my life ever since I was two. Through happiness and discomfort dance has been my greatest form of expression.
Dance is an art that allows you to share your emotions and tell stories in ways words could never say. Dance has taught me many life lessons that will carry throughout the rest of my life. It has taught me determination and the importance of passion. My love for dance deepened when I discovered Modern. This style of dance is so freeing and powerful. And I’m so grateful that modern was introduced into my life.
New Albany Ballet hasn’t been the only studio i’ve danced at, but thats what made me love it more. This studio has kindness and support like no other studio I’ve been to. I am so grateful for the kindness and support that has come from this facility as a whole, and the opportunity to grow in dance.
This year I will be attending OSU Newark and I will be studying aviation engineering while also attending flight school at Heaven Bound Aviation.”

Senior Sunday with Penelope Arthur!!
“I was the kid who loved seeing the stories I made come to life. Dance is only another expression of this. Even though I have been dancing for thirteen years, my four years at NABC have been instrumental to my growth as a dancer and a person.
My teachers have made this experience special, giving me opportunities I never thought possible and pushing me to see what I can really do. Thank you to Miss Tara for your care and for allowing me to join your program. Thank you to the teachers who taught me that hard things are fun and dance is more than just steps. Thank you, Miss Susan, for showing me how to make things work for me. Thank you, Miss Amy, for refining my technique to give me the ability to accomplish more than I imagined. And thank you, Miss Sonia, for believing in me when I didn’t.
I plan to continue dancing in one way or another and to take things I’ve learned into the future.”

Senior Saturday with Sekela Kibonde!!
“For the past sixteen years, ballet has been a constant love that has reshaped, taught, and grown my character in unimaginable ways. I am endlessly grateful to my teachers for pushing me past my limits and showing me what hard work and determination can achieve. To Ellen, for being a guiding light from my very first day of dance until my last. To Miss Tara, for giving me an incredible place to spend my childhood and the opportunity to share my love of ballet with the children I’ve taught. To my fellow dancers, for becoming my second family, my childhood memories would not be the same without our laughs, smiles, and hugs. I am so grateful for the community and love we have built for each other. And to my family, for your unwavering support that kept me motivated and true to myself.
In a few weeks, I will graduate from New Albany High School and attend Georgetown University this fall. I will forever carry the valuable lessons, memories, and bonds I’ve experienced at NABC. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my time at NABC, this is an opportunity I will never regret having.”

M***E to our very own Ayana Worthy who will be taking the finals stage in Houston in 4 days!! ✨🩰
Out of thousands of 9-11 year olds who compete at numerous semi-finals location, only about 200 girls are selected to compete at finals. YAGP has helped all of our students tremendously this season by giving them opportunities and scholarships that help further their dance education. We can’t wait to watch Ayana take the stage on Monday!❤️
