After a tough first day, we are happy to report that Tyler Hicks is safe and resting for the night in Raeford after making it most of the way through today's 220 mile ride. The nearly-100 degree temps and full sun forced him to stop early.

Tyler: "There were 2 roads back-to-back that weren't shaded with trees, and they were about 40 miles each with no gas station. A farmer gave me water, and a church invited me in. I just needed more stops or more shade."

He said he has been cleared by first responders to continue the ride tomorrow.

We are so grateful for the helpers and are in constant admiration of this athlete's motivation to help create the children's museum, which will enrich the lives and minds of his children and our community.

Tyler is planning on cycling a total of 900 miles around North Carolina. He anticipates finishing Monday afternoon by rolling into our building, 408 Hancock St.

Tyler Hicks is burnin’ rubber, and not just because temps are near 100 degrees🌡️☀️! 900 miles in 4 days? What an incredible feat!

Tyler Hicks is rolling out 🚲 at 5 am Friday morning to cycle around NC to help raise $10,000 for the museum! It caught the attention of Brian North WCTI, who is helping spreading the word! Please donate what you can to help support this incredible fundraiser!
