Finn Performance Horses

A busy schedule led to a delay in a recap of our last Stock Horse of Texas show for the year, the World Show. While a large portion of our group was unable to join us, the horses and riders that were able to come did a phenomenal job. Many pairs had new personal bests, and moving into the high 70’s range on the scorecard isn’t an easy feat and something to be very proud of. It’s been a busy few weeks of horse shows with more ahead of us with the Snaffle Bit Futurity now underway and two horses competing.

The final Lavaca Ranch/Reined Cow Horse Show for the year occurred a few weeks ago and it was another good one.

Our horse and riders had many top placings and came home with several year end awards.

Congratulations to everyone who showed throughout the season with the Lavaca Ranch and Reined Cow Horse Association. It’s been great having a new association so close to us that provides a variety of classes for people to choose from, ranging from NRCHA affiliate classes to ranch horse classes and even something for the little ones. There’s been a spot for everyone and we are so grateful for the hard work done by the show officials to put these shows on.

The last regular season Stock Horse of Texas horse show occurred in Bryan, TX last weekend. We’ve got a great group of horses and riders that make the horse show life so much fun. Tough judges, patterns, and cows forced our riders to dig deep and give it their best. Congratulations everyone, good rides!

The Hamilton Stock Horse of Texas Show was different than normal. We have both humans & horses out of commission for the time being, so the normal pairings were shifted. We were down multiple horse & rider teams, but despite that, our riders took up the challenge to show new horses and rocked it. As always, the Stock Horse of Texas put on a great show and we are pleased and proud of all of our riders.

Rarely does anyone ever attend a horse show where they can’t find something to complain about or an area that needs improving. That is not the case for the Stock Horse of Texas. Show after show they do a phenomenal job putting on fun, friendly, and efficient shows. The 2025 Sweetwater Show was yet another great show. It’s made even better by the amazing group of horses and riders we have that attend with us. At home they put in the work and practice, and the results at shows speak for themselves. Congratulations everyone! FPH had at least one win in each of the four SHTX classes, and several horse & rider pairs had their best runs to date.

Your hard work and dedication to the sport has paid off. A huge thank you goes out to Lindsay Covey Dennis for being a great horse show mom, support system, and biggest fan. Thank you as well to Matlock Rice for his assistance, your guidance was no doubt crucial in the show pen.

Thankfully everything at the barn is okay, we’re just wet outside. This rain has been very destructive to those north and west of us in Texas

We do not have extra dry space at our facility to accommodate evacuees but we do know places that have some if any horses, livestock, or other critters are in need. Reach out and we can help connect you or transport if needed.
