HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM TIFA NEW BRAUNFELS CHAPTER!
TDCJ Briscoe Unit is in lockdown as of Wednesday of this week!
What I learned about tablets today:
TDCJ got $24.2 million in funding during the last session to upgrade their information technology system. Their computer systems are from the 'stone age.' They are currently in the bid process and will award the project in the Spring of 2020. So the consideration is they want to get the system installed and then get tablets that will be compatible with the new technology. So it may be another year or so before we see tablets. But when they do hopefully they will be able to submit i-60s, grievances, commissary requests as well as download correspondence courses, books and music.
