Due to continued freezing temperatures, Landa Park Golf Course will have adjusted operations this week as crews keep the greens covered for additional protection. Here are the updated closures and opening times for this week:

🔴 Tuesday, January 27: Golf course remains closed
⛳️ Wednesday, January 28: Golf course opens at 11:00 am.
⛳️ Thursday, January 29: Golf course open for regular hours
⛳️ Friday, January 30: Golf course open for tee times until 1:00 pm.
🔴 Saturday, January 31: Golf course closed
⛳️ Sunday, February 1: Golf course open for tee times beginning at 11:00 am.

We appreciate your understanding as maintenance crews take these necessary steps to protect the course during cold weather conditions.

The National Weather Service is forecasting freezing temperatures across South Central Texas this weekend, with a hard freeze expected Saturday and Sunday mornings. As a precaution, the City of New Braunfels is taking proactive steps and monitoring conditions:

The Landa Park Golf Course will be closed Saturday until Tuesday, Jan. 27, at noon.

If there are any changes, they will be posted at newbraunfels.gov and on the City’s social media platforms. Follow the US National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio Texas for weather updates.

The National Weather Service is forecasting freezing temperatures across South Central Texas this weekend, with a hard freeze expected Saturday and Sunday mornings. Lows may reach the teens and 20s, with wind chills in the single digits. Light precipitation could also create icy road conditions. As a precaution, the City of New Braunfels is taking proactive steps and monitoring conditions:

🏛️ CITY FACILITIES & SERVICES
▪️There are currently no changes to the schedule for residential or commercial garbage and recycling pickup. If there are any changes, they will be posted at newbraunfels.gov and on the City’s social media platforms.
▪️Police, Fire, EMS, and Public Works will continue operations as normal.
▪️Das Rec, Public Library, the Westside Community Center, the Civic/Convention Center, and the New Braunfels National Airport will remain open with normal hours of operation over the weekend.
▪️The Landa Park Golf Course will be closed Saturday until Tues, Jan. 27, at noon.
▪️Restrooms, water fountains, and other facilities in all City parks will be closed Friday through Monday and will remain closed until the freezing weather ends.

🚧 ROAD CONDITIONS
City Public Works crews have pre-treated local roads and bridges with de-icing agents, and TxDOT is making similar preparations on I-35 and major highways. Go to newbraunfels.gov/roadclosures to find the latest local road closures and conditions. If icy conditions form, avoid travel if possible.

📅 MEETINGS & EVENTS
The Electronics Recycling event has been rescheduled to Sat., Feb. 28. If there are any changes, they will be posted at newbraunfels.gov and on the City’s social media platforms.

Original Post: Landa Park Golf Course Closure Notice

Due to freezing temperatures expected this weekend, Landa Park Golf Course will be closed on Saturday, January 24, Sunday, January 25, and Monday morning, January 26th. During this time, maintenance crews will cover the greens with winter tarps and winterize buildings to protect the course facilities.

The golf course will reopen for normal operations on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, weather permitting. We appreciate your understanding as we take steps to protect the course during cold weather!

⛳ Course Maintenance Alert

Heads up, golfers! The Landa Park Golf Course will undergo scheduled aerification on Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16.

Expect temporary changes to playability during this time—we appreciate your patience! This routine maintenance is essential for long-term turf health and helps keep the course in top playing condition.

The greens should be back to normal in about two weeks, weather permitting.

🎆 The Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular is BACK! Join us Friday, July 4, as fireworks light up the skies over Landa Park starting around 9:15 p.m. Thanks to our longtime sponsor H-E-B for helping make this event possible!

The show launches over Landa Lake and can be seen all over the park, including the Landa Park Golf Course and the Fredericksburg Baseball Fields. (Please note: golf course seating opens at 6 p.m., but the putting greens are off-limits.) Fireworks can be seen in several other places around the city, including Fischer Park.

Festivities kick off at 6 p.m. at the Dance Slab with the final Live @ Landa concert of the season — and don’t miss the RE/MAX Skydiving Team landing on the golf course before the fireworks!

Residents and visitors are encouraged to arrive early, expect big crowds, and follow all park rules. During the show, tune in to KGNB AM 1420/103.1 FM to enjoy patriotic music synced to the fireworks.

ORIGINAL POST: Ice and snow accumulation during the overnight hours has prompted an extension of the delayed opening for City of New Braunfels facilities and the postponement of garbage and recycling collection.

The US National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio Texas is predicting winter weather conditions across South Central Texas and a Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Comal County and Guadalupe County to include the City of New Braunfels, until 6pm on Tuesday, Jan. 21st. Forecasters are predicting rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet with freezing temperatures overnight and the possibility of ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch along with new snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch. City of New Braunfels staff are closely monitoring weather conditions and a number of decisions have been made to ensure the safety of City staff and residents.

▪️Garbage and Recycling collection will have a delayed start and will resume normal operations when roads are determined to be safe.

In preparation for the freezing temperatures forecasted for early next week, the Golf Course will be closed Monday, January 20 through Wednesday, January 22 and will reopen on Thursday, January 23 at noon. This closure is necessary to weatherize the course. The golf course staff and maintenance crew will winterize all buildings, exposed irrigation, and golf greens.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service are predicting the possibility of winter weather conditions this weekend and early next week across South Central Texas, including freezing overnight temperatures and the possibility of a mix of winter precipitation including rain, sleet, ice, and snow flurries. As a precaution, the City of New Braunfels is taking several proactive steps and will closely monitor weather conditions as additional decisions are made.

CITY FACILITIES & SERVICES🏛️
New Braunfels City staff will monitor updates from the National Weather Service to determine whether City facilities or services will be affected. Any postponements or closures will be posted on the City’s website at www.newbraunfels.gov and on the City’s social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, and NextDoor.
