🚨The Town of New Canaan has expanded its communications outreach beyond emergency notifications to include the First Selectman’s newsletter and department updates. 🚨
Every local resident and businessperson – whether you have been receiving notices from the Town or not – is urged to visit newcanaan.info/alerts and register your contact information and select the topics of information that you would like to receive from the Town. You may choose to receive the alerts by email or text. Voice phone calls are used only during true emergencies and disasters.
When you register with your selections you will be asked to provide your street address, as some notifications such as road closures and other Public Works activity can be targeted to only the affected geographic areas.
Once you have registered, you can change your selections or delete your account and unsubscribe at any time.
You can select to receive news from:
1) the First Selectman’s newsletter
2) DPW information about road closures, tree work etc.
3) Health department programming and health issues in town
4) Police activity & Fire prevention updates
5) Lapham community center programming and more.
IF YOU HAVE NOT SIGNED UP YET AND EDITED YOUR CURRENT SIGN UP, PLEASE DO SO TO RECEIVE ALL THE LATEST NEWS FROM NEW CANAAN TOWN HALL. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THIS INFORMATION WITHOUT OPTING IN THROUGH YOUR ACCOUNT.

Wellness Series Wednesday!
10/12/22 @ 10:00am:
Residents from all walks of life have relied on the New Canaan Land Trust’s preserves to find peace and solace.
As we move into the autumn months and the leaves begin to change color and temperatures cool, , Let’s Talk About It New Canaan, and are partnering to create a series of wellness events inspired by nature and the outdoors.
Through walking meditation, shinrin yoku/forest bathing, and mindful eating and other practices, program participants will learn about and have the opportunity to practice a number of different techniques to promote mental health and wellbeing.
The goals of each program will be to teach participants a practice, ensure that they have the resources and experience to continue that practice on their own, and introduce them to the Land Trust’s network of open space.
