Day Camp In The Park since 1979 has provided an amazing summer day camp for kids in Rockland County, Manhattan, Bergen County, Westchester County, and Orange County. DCITP is located on a 500+ acre nature preserve on majestic Lake Tiorati in Harriman State Park in Rockland County, NY. Missing camp as much as we are? We knew we would be, that's why throughout the summer we wrote some letters to our future selves - reminding us of some of our favorite days we had, favorite activities, maybe even some inspiration or goals for the coming school year. Be on the lookout when you check the mail, your camper may have sent themselves one too!
As we look back on the endless giggles and epic cheers through our past summer, we are reminded of what truly makes Day Camp in the Park so special. This season was filled with hilarious, joyful memories, timid new campers turning into lifelong besties, and kids stepping into their own confidence as they tried new things and developed new skills. Yet, the most wonderful surprise is that no matter how many summers we host, we always walk away feeling our community is stronger than ever before. closed our Staff Talent Show with a rendition of Linger (one of our newer traditional songs at camp), and a whole crew of campers who had never even heard it before began to join in to help celebrate the DCITP magic.
The way campers cheer each other on, the dedication of our staff, and the support of our camp families remind us exactly why we do what we do. We might be packing away the supplies for the season, but behind the scenes, we are already prepping to make next year even better! Thank you for an unforgettable summer— Do us a favor! While half of the camp was on their hike to Lake Welch we were enjoying our last day with a special tea party, s’moreos, a mini hike and a pool party! We were so sad to say goodbye but already excited for next summer!!

First round of Fishing Derby is a success!! 6/7 girls even made their very OWN rods out of sticks they searched for, added line and hooks and boom awesome fishing rods! They were kind enough to share with 9 and 13 G!! 13G caught 9, yup 9 fish!!
