Excited to announce that our Saturday salsa group classes will officially resume the first weekend of June.
We’ll continue our ongoing salsa group and also begin opening spots for a brand new beginner salsa class for adults who always wanted to learn but never knew where to start.
Looking forward to getting everybody dancing again and welcoming some new faces too.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms, grandmothers, and mother figures out there.
Thank you for all the love, patience, strength, and support you bring into the lives of your families and everyone around you. So many of you inspire me every week, not only on the dance floor, but through the kindness, dedication, and energy you bring into the studio.

Some of you walked in a little nervous.
Some came with partners.
Some came alone.
But every single one of you contributed to the energy in that room.
Watching confidence grow in just one class is exactly why I love teaching.
Seeing the smiles by the end of the night was something special.
Proud of you all.
We continue building this Saturday.

During the last couple of months, I was asked by multiple people about starting group dance classes.
I finally found a time and I’m happy to announce a new group class running on Saturdays at 1:30 pm.
The first class will start on Saturday, February 28th.
This will be a rotating style group class.
We’ll start with Salsa and West Coast Swing, and then continue with other dances.

Happy 100th to Dick Van D**e, seen here doing top level mime work at 34 years old, moving like Harpo Marx after being run through a taffy puller. I don’t think even Gumby could move like this without breaking. This footage aired on CBS on January 20, 1960, as part of a two-hour television special called “The Fabulous Fifties,” which looked back at the news and culture of the preceding decade. This particular clip is from a ten-minute skit where Henry Fonda needles Dick Van D**e to get out there and participate in the various dance crazes of the time, but he’s always just out of step, forever unable to catch up. The special was produced by Leland Hayward and directed by future seven-time Oscar nominee Norman Jewsion (“Moonstruck,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “In the Heat of the Night”), with segments by Ray & Charles Eames, and it also featured Julie Andrews, Jackie Gleason, Rex Harrison, Betty Comden, Suzy Parker, Mike Nichols, and Elaine May. The dance instructor is Maria Karnilova.

Happy Thanksgiving

Feeling very thankful today. I am grateful for my wonderful students and the time we share together at every lesson every event and every moment we spend enjoying life outside the studio. Your support friendship and energy mean so much to me.

DWTS Grand Finale – Quick Review

This season’s finale brought an exciting and emotional finish. I was very glad to see Robert win the mirrorball trophy. Considering he does not have a professional dance background, this truly shows how much dedication and hard work can accomplish, and that anyone can learn to dance.

His performance last night was strong and heartfelt. Thank you to everyone who supported him with their votes.

The show was entertaining overall, although it felt a bit too long. More dancing and less talking would have made it even better. Some long recaps and extra promotions could have been shortened.

Final rating: 8 out of 10.
Excited to see what the DWTS holiday special brings this year.
