PLEASE don’t just study ortho.

You’ll be much more prepared for the complex stuff that appears on your schedule.

Time flies when you’re working with great people.

I had the pleasure of working with on his clinical rotation here at and prepping NYC to have another great clinician.

Best of luck to him on his next rotation and as he finishes up school. Keep an eye out for him!

Everything you do manipulates constraints. That’s not what makes it the Constraints-Led Approach (CLA).

Four criteria. All four. Miss one and you’re doing something else — maybe something useful, but not CLA.

Instability =/= Pain

This is a TEXTBOOK example of a “J-Sign” where the patella moves laterally during knee extension.

If you look closely, you’ll also see the quads work extra hard on the eccentric (rewind and pay attention to the muscle shake)

There was a previous history of dislocation, but this person is able to run, though they will feel occasional “shift”.

Lots of emphasis on mid-range strength, plantarflexion, and quad, especially, but the goal isn’t to “fix” this.

Just build load tolerance and match the demands of daily life, including surfing and running more.

This is why runners need to learn the skill of strength training and how to prevent it from impacting their race preparation.

Just gotta make sure I stay limber. Those drop snatches will help.
