Your TVA (transverse abdominis) is the deepest layer of your core — wrapping around the body like a corset to help support the spine, stabilize the pelvis, manage pressure, and create a stronger connection between the rib cage, core, and pelvic floor. These muscles are essential to work on after pregnancy.
The key is using your breath as an integral part of this system, since the breath is a key component of your core unit.
My core is much stronger after having two babies because after my c-section in 2018, I was forced to learn all about it and I became obsessed with developing a strong, functional core.
