Pineland Center in New Gloucester, Maine was established in 1908 to serve as a home for the mentally handicapped of Maine.

Located in the rolling hills of New Gloucester, Maine, PINELAND FARMS is a working farm, diverse business campus and educational and recreational venue that welcomes visitors to enjoy its beautiful rural landscape. At the time of its official closing in 1996, Pineland consisted of a 28-building campus and 1600-plus acres. A large part of the acreage consisted of farmland which had at one time been cultivated to sustain the needs of the Center's staff and residents. Through its real estate branch, October Corporation, the Libra Foundation of Portland, Maine purchased the Pineland campus and approximately 900 acres of farmland in June 2000. Since that time, extensive renovation, new construction and additional land purchases have brought both the campus and the farms back to life. The Foundation's vision for the campus is to create a unique community by attracting a variety of non-profit and for-profit businesses, organizations and services to lease space in the buildings. Tenants enjoy amenities on the campus such as a conference center, cafeteria and Outdoor & Fitness Center, as well as access to the farm programs and facilities. The farms have been developed as a self-sustaining nonprofit organization known as Pineland Farms, Inc. Our mission is to enrich Maine’s communities by offering immersive educational opportunities related to agriculture and the natural environment, providing time and space for artists and students to develop their creativity, and encouraging a healthy lifestyle through recreation and the outdoors.

We've had so much fun during Corn Maze and Pumpkin season but we're getting close to the end. Our Corn Maze closes for the season on November 1st. The last two corn maze nights happen this week on October 29 & 30. https://shop.pinelandfarms.org/collections/all-classes-events/events

The weather was beautiful and the wind was fair for the 6 teams competing in the random draw doubles event on Patriot last Sunday. Taking first with a 53 (-11) was team Jandreau and Pulk. They earned $42 each! Prizes included a metal Axiom mini, a Pineland stamped macro mini, prize box disc, bag of snacks, cash CTP of $24 and more!

As leaves continue to fall, the course maintenance crew has been steadily leaf blowing all 3 courses. Many discs have been uncovered this week, so if you've lost one recently, be prepared to receive a call or text. Patriot is looking particularly good so that's where we will play our round for this week's random draw doubles on Sunday. After paying for your greens fee in the market or honor box, please join us at 9 a.m. on Patriot 1, with $10 cash in hand for payouts and prizes. Ace pot starts at $155. All are welcome to join. The more the merrier, as they say, so we'll see you out there!

⭐ Help Keep VAST Moving Forward and Donate Today!

For 16 years, our Veterans Adaptive Sports and Training (VAST) program has provided free, life-changing physical activities for veterans with disabilities.
Recently, due to a minor administrative technicality on our application paperwork, and not the quality of our programming, our federal VA funding was suddenly denied for the upcoming year. This grant has covered nearly two-thirds of our annual operating budget for the last 14 years.

We are completely determined to keep our 160+ days of annual programming moving forward without interruption, but we cannot bridge this gap alone. It takes a village, and we need our community now more than ever.

Every single bit of support helps us keep moving forward:
• Any amount donated makes a direct impact on a veteran's life.

While a ski mountain isn't in our future—we’ll leave the snowmaking to Mother Nature—and a railroad isn't quite on the track either, many of you hit the nail right on the head. We are thrilled to announce the return of Light the Farm! 🌟

This year, you’ll still find lights at the Market and on campus but the magic is expanding right to the heart of the Family Farmyard and Valley Farm. It’s going to be bigger and brighter than before, offering a cozy, walkable farm experience rather than a massive drive-through show. We can't wait to welcome you all!

We had a great turnout at our 12th Annual Harvest Festival with around 1,200 visitors! 🌾✨

A huge thank you to the collaborators, vendors, and guests who made the day so special. We had so many favorite moments, but watching the live sheep shearing demonstration by@buckwheatblossomfarm was definitely a highlight! 🐑
