Every Mothers’ Day weekend I spend time weeding, prepping soil, and planting. This year was perfect. Lots of perennials returned , which made this year easy and not so expensive. Special thanks to my SIL .bailis for my wire basket. I didn’t know I needed this, but it is truly perfect for harvesting! Pulled fresh mint from the garden today. Woot woot! To celebrate her 1 year anniversary of Strength training with us at Ascent, Mariela came in with a homemade flan and a written thank you note! A handwritten note? Who does that anymore? Anyway, she made my week! Watching her and Marissa lift last Saturday at the Lift for Change All Women’s Powerlifting meet made me proud! Way to represent our community and strong women!

5 years ago, I didn’t recognize my own body.
I had always been active.
I ate mostly whole foods.
I thought I was doing “enough.”
And yet…
Joint pain.
Low energy.
Poor sleep.
Hot flashes.
I remember thinking, What is happening to me?
And when I looked around, I saw so many other women quietly struggling too.
Fast forward 5 years…
I feel like a completely different woman.
Not because I chased shredded abs.
Not because I followed a perfect meal plan.
Not because I tracked every bite.
But because I learned how to work with my body instead of against it.
This didn’t happen overnight.
It came from education, experimentation, mindset shifts, and small, sustainable changes over time.
Now, this is my mission—
To help mid-life women understand what’s happening in their bodies,
to look at their lives through a different lens,
and to know that there is so much hope.
We’re not chasing perfection here.
We’re building strength, energy, confidence, and a lifestyle that actually supports you.

I’m a strength coach.
