Good luck to Cole Brauer, who will set off tomorrow in the Global Solo Challenge in an attempt to be the first American woman to sail solo around the world. She sailed her Class 40, First Light, from Newport, Rhode Island, last month and arrived safely in Spain for the start of the race. Thanks to Starlink, she posts frequent updates from the boat. You can follow her at or Track the Boat at colebraueroceanracing.com.

The 2016 season of the Pequonnock Yacht Club opened officially today with a beautiful ceremony honoring our Veterans, those still serving in our armed forces and those that made the supreme sacrifice. We also remembered our departed members. God Bless them all and God Bless America.

The Country Dance was a complete success last night with well over 50 dancers taking part. Many danced in tune, some observed and some, like myself, enjoyed the food, drinks and company. Look for photos and video soon.
The Auxiliary did a fine job once again hosting the event and our bar staff was promptly available all night.
