You cannot engineer a culture of care while policing athletes' bodies.
Thank you to Dr. Ali Miller and Dr. Marie-Fatima Hyacinthe from for joining our last monthly meeting to lead a critical discussion on the IOC's latest sex-testing policies and their impact on human rights.
We strongly encourage our community to explore the incredible research and advocacy tools at Humans of Sport to learn more about defending bodily autonomy in athletics. 🛑👟

🗣From conversation to co-creation.🌟
At the Sports Equity Lab Symposium, our Design Lab: Pathways for Sustainable Athlete Thriving brought together athletes, researchers, and students to rethink how we support athletes across their entire journey.
From early youth to post-career transition, participants explored key challenges and solutions around:
• Financial literacy & economic empowerment
• Mental health and “mental capital”
• Identity beyond sport
• Mentorship and trusted guidance
• Athlete storytelling and generational impact
One thing was clear:
⚠️Athletes need systems that support them as people — not just performers.

This week, Sports Equity Lab was in Mexico for the IV Congreso Internacional del Deporte (March 10–12) 🇲🇽 🏃
🎙Our researcher presented his PhD research on crime in sport in a talk titled:
"El deporte como entorno criminógeno: estructura, cultura y producción de violencia."
ENG: “Sports as a Crime-Prone Environment: Structure, Culture, and the Production of Violence.”
His presentation explored how the structures and cultures within sport can shape environments where different forms of violence may emerge — an essential conversation for building safer and more equitable sporting spaces.

Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who refuse to stand by 💜
This carousel honors some of the women who participated in and helped shape our October Symposium, held in memory of Rebecca Cheptegei, whose life was taken through gender-based violence.
Their presence reminds us what looks like: women showing up, supporting one another, and working together to break barriers and create safer, more equitable environments in sport and beyond.
Because progress doesn’t happen by chance.
It happens because people choose to act.
Today we celebrate the women who keep pushing this work forward - for sport, and for everyone.
