20 years in New Haven lookback!! 2006-2026 Mágia Flamenca produced by Melinda Marquez and Val Ramos took place at The Little Theater, New Haven in late 2005. After that, The Flamenco Dance Center of New York and Connecticut took shape, later becoming Melinda Marquez Flamenco Dance Center, LLC, and now known as Chestnut Street Studio. We were thrilled to have Luis Vargas, flamenco singer join us, along with Matt Moadel on cajón and José Ramos on guitar. PS. As we slow down and cozy in place, what a perfect time to begin our look back over the past 20 years. To honor the many artists, students and community supporters who have actively been involved in keeping our dance and movement practices alive, evolving and transforming. We won't be going in any particular order. This fb post from 2015 jumped out this morning. What a joyous collaboration between BalletHaven and its directors, Mnekisa Whitaker and Monica Bunton, Melinda Marquez Flamenco Dance Center, the Community Foundation of Greater New Haven, City of New Haven Arts Culture and Tourism, and the support of Saatchi & Saatchi.

Weather Notice: All Sunday Jan. 24th and Monday, Jan 25th classes in studio are cancelled due to impending snowstorm.
We've added a yoga class on the schedule for tomorrow, Saturday, Jan24th 1:15-2:40pm. Monday night beginner flamenco will take place on zoom. Stay safe and warm.🥰
