Yale Rifle Team

We're trying to reach out to alumni, if you know anyone who was on Yale Rifle please shoot us a message!

This weekend, several of our members competed in an informal, friendly match against SUNY: Maritime. This marks our first win of the season! We enjoyed hosting them for this match and we're looking forward to our next competition. Huge shout-out to the brand new members who competed for the first time at this match!

Yale students interested in trying out for our team tomorrow should come to Bass Library Room L06-A at either 8:00 PM, 8:30 PM, or 9:00 PM in order to attend a non-mandatory information session with the board! We look forward to seeing all of you for tryouts and getting started on another great year!

At the last Thursday practice of the year we had a full line and handed out team t-shirts! Looking forward to another great year after the break!!

This week our team held its first practices of the semester. We handed out gear and quickly started practicing, eager to start a new semester of improving!

Last Saturday, several of our members competed at the US Coast Guard Academy, against their varsity team. Altogether, our shooters accumulated 1,963 points. This total is not only our highest score of this year, but also the best our team has ever done! Congratulations to all the competitors!

The Yale Rifle Team won its first match by over a 100 point margin against Canisius College today! This is our first win since being revived as a club sport almost three years ago!

At our first practice back from summer break, the teammates tried out the rifles they want to fire this semester. They also began practicing with air rifles for the first time ever! Everyone on the team is excited for all the tryout process and to have our new shooters!

Due to health concerns, we regret to inform you that Yale has had to withdraw our competitor from participating in the national championship this coming week. We wish all the participating teams and individuals the best of luck, and hope to see them in the 2015 regular season and at nationals next year! Thanks to all of our fans for their tremendous support during our first season back on the competitive circuit in a long while. See you all next year!
