Today I evaluated my first official Canine Good Citizen test. I’m proud to say that Temper the border collie owned by Samantha from earned the title of Canine Good Citizen (CGC). Samantha is our NOLA Dog Sports Club CGC Lead so it’s an honor to have Temper as my first CGC title recipient. Thank you to Sam for coaching me along the way.

Our NOLA Dog Sports Club herding dogs earned lots of titles & awards this weekend at WonderDog Farms in an event hosted by the North Louisiana Herding Association.

Congratulations to Samantha, Hollie, Leslie, Shelly, Debbie, Cheryl, Sherry & Christa!

After a weekend of herding next weekend we’ll spend our last weekend of February with our final CGC Workshop. In March we do a workshop on the American Kennel Club’s new FETCH sport, CGC & TRICK TESTING, do a seminar on SCENT WORK and lots of us will compete in FAST CAT, CAT & DOCK DIVING at a competition in Bush! It’s dog sports season at full speed!

We had a great Mardi Gras Mambo 5K today in New Orleans City Park! Today’s 5K will allow more dogs to earn their American Kennel Club titles. Before we headed off on our walk we drew names to see who would be our King & Queen and STORM was chosen King and VALKA was chosen as our Queen! There was no better way to spend Mardi Gras Day than walking with our NOLA Dog Sports Club friends.

We haven’t celebrated .the.magnificent, Morgus and his mom are one of our very newest members and last week they earned their CGC at our Slidell walk! It’s Morggie’s very first title! 🏆 Something tells me there will be more titles in Morgus’ future. CONGRATULATIONS!

More great news from this past weekend! Samantha & Madi took Joc & Charley to our friends Salty Dogs Coursing and they both earned their Fetch titles (first pic). Joline l & Fancy went as well and Fancy not only got the Fetch title but also her CGC, CGCA & her Farm Dog title (photos 2-4)! Congrats to all three of these teams for earning some the very first FETCH Titles awarded! 🏆

We are going to continue to work on our CANINE GOOD CITIZEN (CGC) skills during the month of February! Our AKC FIT DOG GROUP WALKS (including this Sunday in Slidell!) are a great way to practice those CGC skills.

Not only can you earn your CGC titles (INFO ON CGC: https://www.akc.org/products-services/training-programs/canine-good-citizen) but we can also help you and your dog(s) earn their AKC FIT DOG titles through our group walks and our sports training.
