Meet Dr. Manoj Chalam.

Often called a “spiritual stand-up comedian,” Manoj blends humor, storytelling, and the rich symbolism of Hindu and Buddhist deities to make Bhakti yoga and non-dual philosophy accessible, engaging, and deeply transformative.

An Indian-born scientist with a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, Manoj helps students discover their archetypal path through yogic deity traditions. Drawing on the work of Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung, he teaches practical ways to work with these archetypes as a living spiritual practice.

Through workshops, online teachings, YouTube videos, and his San Diego-based Sakhya Bhava Ashram (“where the divine is your friend”), Manoj has inspired thousands through the power of story. His work has been featured by the Ram Dass Foundation, and he is the co-creator of the Murtis & Vedanta online ashram community.

Expect a workshop experience that is equal parts insightful, interactive, and inspiring—blending lecture, group exercises, archetypal deity meditations, mantra, and embodied practice.

📅 Labor Day Weekend 2026

One of the deepest intentions of is to weave our beautiful conscious community closer together.
🙏🏽
Recently, we gathered studio owners and leaders from across our region. Not to discuss competition, but to explore collaboration. To sit in the same space, share our hearts, and remember that we are all part of the same greater practice.

In yoga, we recognize that we are not separate. Each studio, teacher, healer, and practitioner is a unique expression of the same divine consciousness. While our classes, lineages, and offerings may look different, we are all serving the same purpose: helping people remember their wholeness.

Yoga was never meant to be a race for students, followers, or success. It is a path of union. A path of love. A path that invites us to rise together rather than apart.
🙏🏽
Not everyone was able to attend, but we are deeply grateful for every studio, teacher, and community leader who continues to hold space for healing, growth, movement, meditation, and transformation throughout our city.
🙏🏽
When you support a local yoga studio, you’re supporting more than a business. You’re supporting a sanctuary. A place where people reconnect with themselves, find community, heal old wounds, and awaken to something greater.
🙏🏽
Thank you to all the teachers, studio owners, and seekers who continue to share their gifts with love and devotion.
🙏🏽
May we continue to collaborate, celebrate, and create a healthier, happier, and more connected New Orleans and Gulf South.
