In this season, I am being forced to accept that there will be days that are completely out of my control and that don't go as planned... and that's ok.
Consistency in my fitness routine is more important than perfection. And choosing to keep showing up is the key to results and sustained progress.

Lately it feels like I have 1000 things going on all the time - motherhood, career, social life, Run Krewe, Krewe of Athena, the list is never ending.
So, as I try to reestablish my fitness routines, every week looks different. Some miles I run and some miles I walk, but the key is to keep showing up and keep pushing.

Ask for the referral upfront (if you can).
After having a baby, I didn't want to wait until there was a major issue. I wanted to start my recovery with the knowledge and tools to rebuild my body.
The physical therapist checked for diastasis recti and core strength. She also recommended some exercises I could start incorporating.
When I returned to exercising I was able to do so comfortably and confidently.
Progress > Perfection

She's baaaaaaack! 🏃🏽♀️
I ran my first 5K in about a year on Saturday with . Truthfully, it probably would have taken me longer without the encouragement and support of a group. First, I wasn't even sure I was going to run that day. I thought about just walking. Then I wasn't sure I would do 3.1 miles - I thought, "Maybe I will just do 2." And then I finished the whole route.
Gotta love positive peer pressure! 😜
Was I as fast as I was pre-baby? Not yet. But did it feel good to be running again? Heck yeah!
