🔦 APEX ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT 🔦

APEX alumnus Kyzer Dunbar (Fr., New Orleans/IMG Academy) joined APEX as a sophomore alongside his brother and fellow St. Augustine Purple Knight, Louisiana 800-meter state champion and multi-time All-American Zander. Though Kyzer would leave St. Augustine (and APEX) to train at IMG Academy in Florida, he was a standout athlete in the APEX program, competing in the boy's 800-meter, and as a member of the Purple Knight's 4x800-meter relay team. He joined the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida as a senior.

Kyzer is a freshman at Texas Tech, where he is expected to make a major impact for the Red Raiders.

🔦 APEX ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT 🔦

APEX alumnus Bryce Darensbourg (So., New Orleans/The Willow School) came to APEX following a hamstring injury in his sophomore year, and trained throughout his high school career. Bryce continues to train at APEX during the offseason.

While at the Willow School, Bryce competed in Nike Outdoor Nationals before signing with the Wolfpack. In his freshman campaign at Loyola, he earned First Team All-Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) as a member of the men's outdoor 4x800 meter relay team, which captured a program record time of 7:53.70. He was also a member of the SSAC indoor 4x800 meter relay championship team.

As a freshman, Bryce also qualified for NAIA Nationals as a member of the men's 4x800 meter team.

🔦 APEX ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT 🔦

APEX alumnus Holdyn Sparkman (So., New Orleans/The Willow School) came to APEX as a sprinter for the Lions, but soon developed a love for a new sport--powerlifting.

Holdyn began his formal training as a powerlifter at APEX in his senior year before joining the Ragin Cajun powerlifting team as a freshman.

Since joining UL's powerlifting team, Holdyn has put up big numbers, including a Top-25 finish in the 2025 U.S. Collegiate Cup Series.

🔦 APEX ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT 🔦

APEX alumnus Zander Dunbar (Sr., New Orleans/St. Augustine) has become a standout for the Green Wave track team, where he competes in the men's 800-meter run.

Zander joined APEX in his junior year, and was a 2x state champion, 5x All-State, 3x All-American, 7x District Champion, and 5x All-Region for the Purple Knights.

At Tulane, he was the American Conference Outdoor Champion in the 800-meter during the 2023-2024 season.

APEX will close for the holidays on December 22 and re-open on Saturday, January 3.
