Starting again....

I've been moving from minute to minute just trying to get through a given day...simply existing as a human being on this planet. If I got through the basics--eat, bathe, sleep, repeat--it was a good day.

Actively focusing on a fitness routine was WAYYYYYY down the list of priorities. It was part of the plan: my head was an enthusiastic participant. My body was not, and it usually won the fight. Day after day, week after week...lots of "next times" and "clean slates."

Last week I got to take a trip that let me power down, focus on just me, and regroup...and I managed two 10,000 step days in a row. The next day I barely cleared 6,000, the minimum goal. But I hit a target. And I hit minimum or above minimum for the whole week.

It's a small victory, but it's definitely a victory. Most people think fitness instructors should always be motivated and able to motivate themselves....but we're human, too. We fall and lose focus, lose drive. And it's hard for us to get back on track sometimes. Find the right trigger and a good rhythm and routine, and we can build momentum.

Not a bad restart. Let's kick off Week 2....
