Theodore West opened the Nisei Dojo in 1963 and was its Ju Jitsu instructor until 1974. He and others founded the Kyudan Jiu-Jitsu Federation in August, 1968. The KJJF is an umbrella organization of styles of Jiu Jitsu in the states of New York, Rhode Island, Maine, Florida and internationally in Ireland.
