MSA TREND RACING UPDATE 🏁

Yesterday we attempted to get the #17 DRT Services Chevy Cavalier back on track after the Dodge Neon blew a motor at our last race.

We were able to get some work done on the Cavalier before race day, and it definitely paid off! The car was fast and dialed in during practice, and we were excited to see what it could do in the feature.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans. The rain came in, and with the track too wet to safely race, the rest of the night was postponed.

We’ll regroup, keep working, and try again next race! The #17 is ready! 🏁

Last night definitely wasn’t on MSA Trend Racing’s side.

In the heat race, the #24 spun and came back up the track, causing contact with us and sending the #99 into the outside wall. After that, the Dodge just wasn’t the same.

We thought we had it ready for the feature, but on lap 3 we heard a loud pop down the backstretch and shut it down. We believe it may have skipped timing, so we’ll be going through the motor and timing to see what happened.

We’ve got 2 weeks off, sitting 2nd in points with 4 races left. Time to regroup, get the Dodge right, and finish this season strong! 🏁💪

Big thanks to Preston and his dad for helping us in the pits and getting the car back into the enclosed trailer. We really appreciate the help! 🏁

🏁 WHAT A NIGHT FOR MSA TREND RACING! 🏁

Last night was definitely interesting! The Dodge Neon gave us trouble right from practice breaking up, stalling, and basically no power. We changed a throttle body, coil packs, checked grounds and wiring, fuel pressure and finally found a bad connection at the battery.

We got it fixed just in time for the feature, and when that green flag dropped… THE NEON CAME ALIVE! 🔥

Starting dead last, we worked our way through the field with some awesome 3 and even 4 wide racing and brought it home 2ND OUT OF 8! 🏁

We crossed the finish line side by side with the #4 of Preston for P2!

From almost loading it up early to finishing on the podium that’s racing! 💪🔥

🏁 Race Week is Here! 🏁

We’ve been busy in the garage making a few modifications and upgrades to the DRT Services Dodge Neon, and we’re excited to see what it’ll do on the track!

This Saturday, August 8, it’s Family Fun Night at New Smyrna Speedway! Bring the whole family out for an action packed evening of racing under the lights.

🏁 Race Recap New Smyrna Speedway

Overall, it was a solid night for MSA Trend Racing!

The DRT Services Dodge Neon was on rails all night and had plenty of speed. We were able to pick up the heat race win, which was a great way to start the evening! 🏆

When it came time for the feature, we gave it everything we had and brought home a 6th place finish out of 12 cars. While we would’ve liked to finish a few spots higher, we’re happy to leave with a fast race car and plenty to build on.

We’ll spend the next two weeks making a few adjustments and searching for just a little more speed before we’re back at New Smyrna Speedway.
