Introducing our interview guests: Sifu Wan Kam Leung has been training martial arts since an early age, and by the time he moved to Hong Kong, he was already familiar with various kung fu styles. In the 1960s, he was one of the earliest students to learn Wing Chun from the late Sifu Wong Shun Leung. In 1988, he was one of a few students who was awarded the “Senior Instructor Certificate” by Master Wong. The five characters “Practical Wing Chun” – “實用詠春拳” is Master Wong Shun Leung’s authentic calligraphy and was written for Sifu Wan when Master Wong gave his consent to use Practical Wing Chun as a nameplate of Sifu Wan’s modified Wing Chun style in 1994. His Wing Chun style has become well known worldwide through various special interviews, seminars, and demonstrations Sifu Wan has been invited to give. Sifu Wan has become one of the most respected Wing Chun masters in Hong Kong today.
