happy 4 years gym. every september i post a video to mark another year training in the gym however i have never showed the bit before which led me to the point of fully committing to not only the gym but to myself. before this point i started to feel lost and that something was missing from my life (especially at university) but as soon as i started the gym, everything felt so much better and not only was i progressing in the gym, everything around me changed too - i got into my dream uni for my masters that i was rejected from when i was 18 and i got my dream job after 60 rejections and a pandemic. i also became a happier, more confident and better person! every decision you make shapes your life in more ways than you may realise, making that promise to myself 4 years ago has changed my life forever, inside and out. remember it’s never too late to start and just believe in yourself even when others may not!

pull up world record update. 2 years and 10 months ago i decided to start training to break the female world record for most amount of pull ups in 1 minute (despite only being able to do 5 pull ups at the time). the world record sat at 39. at the beginning of this year i had reached 33 and then the record was absolutely smashed by an incredible women who raised this to 44. after that, i redirected my focus and swapped my record over to align more with the strengths i believe i have (which i discovered through hundreds of training sessions). so instead, i decided to train for the most amount of pull ups in 1 minute with a 20lbs pack (9kg). the record for this was 21 and on my first attempt to see where i was at, i got 19 reps. this week, i discovered that this record has also been smashed, from 21 to now 24. although i haven’t spoken about where i am at for a while, i was getting very close to being at the standard i need to be at to attempt the record. the goal was pull ups but the purpose was much deeper than this. it is a another huge obstacle in my journey, however just like in life, there is always a way through. i have made mistakes with my training, i’ve probably made decisions and trained in ways that haven’t been the most efficient and i’m not blind to this. however, doing this without a coach was important to me, i wanted to figure things out on own and learn the hard way. i’ve reevaluated my training and have made some big changes that i have started to implement, it’s going to be repetitive but it’s going to be effective. trusting the process, staying consistent and learning every single day. most of all, i am staying patient. because when i finally achieve this, its going to feel even more incredible after overcoming all of these setbacks🩵
